Repeated measures design for GAM? - corrected question...
Dear all, I have a question on the use of GAM with repeated measures. My dataset is as follows: - a number of study areas where bird abundance has been determined. Counts have been performed in 3 consecutive years and there were 2 counts per year (i.e. in total 6 counts). - a number of environmental predictors that do not change over year Xi). When using a GLM, a repeated measures design would

Problems using gamlss to model zero-inflated and overdispersed count data: "the global deviance is increasing"
Dear all, I am using gamlss (Package gamlss version 4.0-0, R version 2.10.1, Windows XP Service Pack 3 on a HP EliteBook) to relate bird counts to habit variables. However, most models fail because “the global deviance is increasing” and I am not sure what causes this behaviour. The dataset consists of counts of birds (duck) and 5 habit variables measured in the field (n= 182). The dependent

2 problems
Dear samba-folks, I have 2 problems. First, all the files that save raw data sent to be printed doesn?t disapear from my printer service path (/usr/spool/uucppublic), and then I have to run a cron job everyday to empty this directory, but sometimes it is not enough and I have to manually do that (the printing intensive days...). How can I tell samba that after printed these files can be

Question on zero-inflated Poisson count data with repeated measures design - glmm.ADMB
Dear R community, I have some questions regarding the analysis of a zero-inflated count dataset and repeated measures design. The dataset is arranged as follows : Unit of analysis: point - these are points were bird were counted during a certain amount of time. In total we have about 175 points. Each point is located within a certain habitat fragment (here: "site"= A-B-C-D-..., in

LVM use for Xen
Hi. I''m going to install a testing machine with Xen on Debian Sarge. I wish to use LVM to partition the hard disk to be able to resize LVM partitions to create new partitions for new domU when I will create new ones. How I can configure LVM at Debian installation to obtain this? Could you advise me a partitioning scheme, please? Thank you very much and goodbye! Luca.

A tale about pci and xen
Hi there, Just want to share a issue that i had with a DVB pci card on domU. I´m using xen 3.1 (so far the one that works best with my various pci passthrough devices), and I wanted to export a DVB pci card to a mythtv backend domU. The domU could see the device, and load the modules correctly, but when it tried to use the device the domU froze, and cpu went 100%. After trying a lot of

Virtual PCI X passthrough
Hi there, Is there any performance/signficant diferences between the two modes besides the pci number re-ordering? Where I can found more about it as the documentations doesnt seems to cover much. -- Christian Lyra PoP-PR/RNP _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

t.test in a loop
Hi All, I've been having a little trouble with creating a loop that will run a a series of t.tests for inspection, Below is the code i've tried, and some checks i've looked at. I've used the get(paste()) idea as i was told previously that the use of the eval should try and be avoided. I've run a single syntax to check that my systax is correct and works without any problems

Dmesg log for 2.6.31-rc8 kernel been built on F12 (rawhide) vs log for same kernel been built on F11 and installed on F12
Previous 2.6.31-rc8 kernel was built on F11 and installed with modules on F12. Current kernel has been built on F12 (2.6.31-0.204.rc9.fc12.x86_64) and installed on F12 before loading under Xen 3.4.1. Dmesg log looks similar to Michael Yuong''s ''rc7.git4''  kernel for F12. Boris. --- On Tue, 9/8/09, Boris Derzhavets <bderzhavets@yahoo.com> wrote: From: Boris

I will get a smbd process started. (If this is incorrect please let me know ;) But this morning I did a quick ps -ax on my machine and found *two* smbd -D in the process list. But as far as I know there is no connection to the samba server right now. I did connect to and disconnect from the server yesterday but I would think that that connection would have been released by now. Can anyone

Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking

Please note that Windows 9x clients are not true members of a domain for reasons outlined in this article. Therefore the protocol for support Windows 9x style domain logons is completely different from NT4 domain logons and has been officially supported for some time. Did you read this document? Let me know what needs to be updated and i will take care of it. Cheers, jerry

PCI Devices, hotplug and performance
Hi there, I´m running xen-3 unstable with kernel source pulled from mercurial repository a couple of weeks ago. I´m hiding a few PCI devices from Dom0 using the pci.hide option but hotplug still can find the devices, is this supposed to happen? To be on safe side I´m blacklisting those devices in Dom0 hotplug configuration. I just saw that the PCI hiding configuration was removed from the online
