Problems installing R 2.1.1. from rpm (R-base-2.2.0-1.i586.rpm) on SuSE 10
Hi I have problems installing R 2.1.1. from rpm (R-base-2.2.0-1.i586.rpm) on SuSE 10. It installs fine, all dependances are OK (at least Yast does not complain) but when I try to run R, it gives the following error message: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libblas.so.3: undefined symbol: _gfortran_filename and R quits. blas version: 3.0-926 Any help appreciated, Rainer -- -- Rainer M.

Using gsl libraries in R packages
I have some compiled C code that I call from R, and I would like to distribute this code as an R package through CRAN. In the C code, I use the gsl numerical libraries, mainly for the BLAS interface, some linear algebra functions, and some optimization routines. As I prepare this code to conform to the specs for R packagtes, I am wondering if there is a restriction on the use of external

Wine auto update under Suse 10.3
The above has been working perfectly since I first installed Wine last year, successfully installing the updates which appear sometimes on a daily basis. It uses the main Suse 10.3 repositories, plus software.opensuse.org/download/Emulators:/Wine/openSUSE_10.3/ However in the last couple of weeks the updates have all failed, giving a "missing dependencies" message showing many

Problem with gsl package
Hi all, I am new to R and am writing after having contacted Robin Hankin, who maintains the R gsl wrapper. I am trying to use an AFNI (neuroimaging analysis) program that depends on the R gsl package. When I try to use the script I wrote, I get an error that led me to suspect the gsl package was a culprit. When I do library("gsl") within R, I get: Error in dyn.load(file, DLLpath

install R under suse: packages dependency
Hi all I'm trying to install R 2.3.0 under Suse 10.0. As I'm using SSH to login into the SUSE server, I can't use YAST2, so I have to use rpm -i in the shell. The system tells me that I need some other packages such as xorg-x11-fonts-100dpi, blas, libgfortran.so.0(). Is there some website where I can download and install these packages? Thanks a lot! Trouble with Installing R Package gsl
Dear R users: I have a problem when installing the R package *gsl*. The procedure is as follows: (1) Since it needs a GSL vesion >=1.12, and the GSL library on the serve I use is too old, I download GSL 1.15 and install it in my own account, such as $HOME/local/gsl. Because I do not have root access, so it cannot be installed in standard folder. (2) Then I download the source code of R

Samba Guide, SuSe and Yast
Hi, I'm using SuSe Linux Enterprise Server 9. I've setup a Samba/LDAP solution according to ch5 of the Samba Guide. It's working - that's great :-) Now I'd like to know if anyone tried to manage the users database using tools provided by Yast. Is there a risk to mess up everything ? Did anyone try that before ? Thanks for your help, Olivier Thibaut.

why no libRblas.so in ubuntu packages on CRAN?
Hi, everybody. I notice debian packages for Ubuntu on CRAN are missing "libRblas.so" and I'm trying to find out why. Why do I care? We are working in an hpc project in a CentOS Linux cluster. That led me to the question of "which BLAS is fastest?" Dirk E referred me this morning to the R admin manual. The standard R compilation creates a shared blas library libRblas.so

Login incorrect problem (SUSE-packaged Xen)
Hello, I am a newbie of Xen and just started with SUSE9.3-packaged Xen. The packaged document README.SuSE and script mk-xen-resucue-img.sh did me a great help, I could run sample ttylinux-xen and rescue-based Suse with xen. Now I''m trying YaST dirinstall. I Created a root FS image and installed a "minimal system required" using YaST . This domain booted and login console

gsl package on mavericks
hello I maintain the gsl R package, and many users have recently reported that the package does not install from source under macosx 10.9 ("mavericks"). Users typically install the gnu GSL library and are able to compile and run a small "hello world" program which executes some of the Bessel functionality of the library; but under mavericks the configure script (which uses

Installing openSuSE 10.3 as PV-guest on a LVM-drive of a openSuSE 10.3 host
Hi, how can I install a openSuSE 10.3 PV-guest on a LVM-drive of a openSuSE 10.3 host with Xen 3.10? On 10.2 with Xen 3.0.3 the openSuSE-YaST-module for managing VMs could install the system also on block-devices, unfortunately this is not possible anymore with OSS 10.3 :-( What I have tried: - I created two LVM-partitions, one for "/" one for swap. - Installing an OSS 10.2 PV-guest

package gsl assumes incorrect gcc version during install (PR#10451)
Full_Name: Levi Waldron Version: 2.5.1 OS: Ubuntu Gutsy Submission from: (NULL) (206.248.157.88) I installed libgsl0-dev then tried to install the gsl cran package, unsuccessfully (see output below). As a workaround I created a symbolic link to /usr/bin/gcc-4.2, ie: sudo ln -s /usr/bin/gcc-4.1 /usr/bin/gcc-4.2 The correct behavior of the gsl package should be to use the executable

I did a complete update.packages() which reinstalled a great number of packages (I have a great number in my personal library).
