Association Measures
Does anybody know if there is an implementation of Goodman-Kruskal lambda measures of association in R? Also, how we can analyze ordered contingency tables and compute the relative measures of associations in R? Thank in advance --------------------------------- [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Error is assocplot
Hello, I have a contingency table showing relation between two datasets. I tried to see association among them with the assocplot, but it shows error. mosaicplot of the same data worked perfectly. Can anyone please help me. Con.table=as.matrix(Con.table) > dim(Con.table) [1] 27 27 > assocplot(Con.table, space = 0.3, + main = NULL, xlab = NULL, ylab = NULL) Error in

new progress reporting ETA and resume transfer options
I often use rsync as basically an scp with resume functionality, but there are a couple annoyances that've often come to mind while doing this. The first is that if I've already transferred a significant amount of a large file, the ETA is rather on the low side because rsync only takes into account the starting time, current time, and the current offset in the file when computing the

Coefficient of association for 2x2 contingency tables
Hi, Found no measure of association or correlation for 2x2 contingency tables in fullrefman.pdf or google. Can someone point to a package that implements such calculations? Samba 3.0 and ETA?
After reading the scattered documentation and FAQs, it appears that a current release 2.2.4 Samba server can not be a BDC. Furthermore, it appears that the Samba PDC does not implement enough of a true Windows PDC to replace a Windows NT PDC as relates to NT client/server security needs. Will 3.0 Samba servers be a drop in replacement for Windows NT domain servers or can this not be

Rails 3.0.6 ETA?
Hello, Is there some Rails 3.0.6 ETA? I am asking because there are some security holes in Rails 3.0.3, which are currently available in Fedora 15. So is it right time to update Rails to 3.0.5 or is it worth of waiting for 3.0.6? Vit -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Core" group. R: sim1000G
Hi Berina, I'm not an expert on genetics. I haven't looked at the package. And I've only glanced at your question. So, this is probably not the best response. But as no one else has responded, here's some comments: (1) Have you checked if there's a function in the package to do what you want? The remainder of these questions assume that you have, and the answer is no. (2)

effect sizes in lme/ multi-level models
Dear alltogether, I am searching for a way to determine "effect size" in multi-level models by using lme(). Coming from Psychology, for ordinary OLS there are measures (for meta-analysis, etc.) like CohensD <- (mean_EG - mean_CG) / SD_pooled or (p)eta^2 <- SS_effect / (SS_effect + SS_error) I do not intend to lead a discussion of the usefulness of such measures as long as

code for double sum

[R-pkgs] heplots 0.9-3 and candisc 0.5-18 released to CRAN
I've just released the latest R-Forge versions of heplots 0.9-3 and candisc 0.5-18 to CRAN. They should appear there within a day or two. == heplots The heplots package provides functions for visualizing hypothesis tests in multivariate linear models (MANOVA, multivariate multiple regression, MANCOVA, etc.). They represent sums-of-squares-and-products matrices for linear hypotheses and for

chisq.test, basic question
The cells are interpreted as counts, so by scaling you're analyzing a different experiment (one with fewer observations). So the chi-squared value will change (the terms (O-E)^2/E in the statistic scale linearly ignoring rounding and "Yates' continuity correction"). The chisq.test on the original data is a test of association. Conventionally you decide ahead of time on a
