Rpy not working after upgrade to R2.9.1
Hi, I'm running Ubuntu Jaunty, downloading R and Rpy from this repository: deb http://cran.uk.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu jaunty/ When was automatically upgraded, Rpy (which should be downloaded from the same repository) seems to have stopped working. I've tried re-installing the python-rpy package manually. I get the following error when I try to import rpy: >>> import

python-rpy DEB broken - but hopefully easy to fix
Hi CRAN people, There is an issue with python-rpy on Ubuntu, when installed from the CRAN repository. (I read the info on http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/ and saw the note that this package is experimental but you are happy to receive feedback on it.) After adding the appropriate CRAN repo: % sudo apt-get install python-rpy [ ... installs various dependencies ... ] % echo import rpy |

Calling R functions from Python
All- Thanks in advance for your help. I'm trying to call R function using Python in a windows environment and have downloaded the Rpy library however it doesn't appear to work with R 2.7.2. Does anyone know if a new version of Rpy exists for windows that will work with R and where it can be downloaded from? Here's an example of the error I'm getting:

multithreading calling from the rpy Python package
Hello, I don't know if this question ought to go here, or rather on R-devel, so please bear with me. I'm interfacing to R via RPy (rpy.sf.net) and an embedded Python interpreter. This is really quite convenient. I use this approach to calculate the correlation coefficient of 1 independent dataset (vector) with 4 dependent vectors. It'd be nice if that could be done in 4 parallel

building rpy against lenny-cran
Hi. On all of my machines, except for a netbook cursed with the GMA500 chipset, the R packages are synced to lenny-cran. I have been using rpy in a chroot using the official lenny R packages (2.7.1) given that i have not been able to find compatible rpy deb packages to work with lenny-cran. I am able to build the rpy deb package from source in a 32-bit lenny chroot (with the stock R packages)

Rpy Import Error
I am trying to install Rpy to test it out as an R interface for a project that I am working on. However, I get the following error. Any clues as to what might be going on? I have alo tried RSPython, but I gave up due to errors. RSPython segfaults when started from R and gives an error message I can;t remember from python. Thanks, Brett >>> import rpy Traceback (most recent call

RPy
I'm curious if there are users of RPy on this list. I've recently created a gui front end using Tkinter for some python scripts I've written for some of our internal operations and I am quite pleased with how this program works. I wonder if it is possible to also get this gui to run R functions through the use of RPy. Going even a step further, I wonder if it is possible to get this

R crashes when used from within rpy (PR#9481)
Full_Name: Jose Gaetan Pierre Version: 2.4.1 OS: Fedora Core 6 Submission from: (NULL) (196.27.87.14) I have been using R from within rpy for a while because I am more familiar with Python syntax. R plot display problem under windows when using python rpy module.
Dear list, Rpy is a python module that provides python interface to R. The following simple commands >>> from rpy import * >>> r.plot(0) is supposed to create a window that displays the result of plot(0). However, we observe that 1. Under *nix, rpy+R+python work as expected 2. Under windows, python + pythonWin32 (a python GUI provided by the pywin32 module), work as expected

good and bad ways to import fixed column data (rpy)
Recorded here so others may avoid my mistakes. I have a bunch of files containing fixed width data. The R Data guide suggests that one pre-process them with a script if they are large. They were 50MG and up, and I needed to process another file that gave the layout of the lines anyway. I tried rpy to not only preprocess but create the R data object in one go. It seemed like a good idea; it

Rpy vs RSPython
Hi, I'm planning to write some code in Python using R functions. I'm aware of the two R<->Python packages - Rpy and RSPython. Rpy seems easier to get up and running with, but does anybody have any comments regarding which would be a better system to work with in the long run? Thanks, ------------------------------------------------------------------- Rajarshi Guha <rxg218 at

Help with Python, R and RPY
Hi All: Walter Moreira wrote a small extension module for using the R programming language from within Python. Tim Church's example at http://www.cmat.edu.uy/~walterm/rpy was so compelling, I could not resist installing it on my Linux Mandrake 8.1 box. But I ran into problems. I have installed on Mandrake 8.1 both python and R: R-base-1.4.1-1mdk.i586.rpm

R 1.8.0 (to be) and RPy 0.3.1
I look every now and then at RPy. It is not yet a Debian package as it had the odd problem here or there -- initially an Atlas interaction, currently something with long_jump() which cannot be found when R's dynamic library is loaded. [1] It is called R_eval.c: /* Abort the current R computation and signal a KeyboardInterrupt exception */ void interrupt_R(int signum) { interrupted = 1;

Koji/CBS infra and sslv3/Poodle important notification
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, As most of you already know, there is an important SSLv3 vulnerability (CVE-2014-3566 - see https://access.redhat.com/articles/1232123) , known as Poodle. While it's easy to disable SSLv3 in the allowed Protocols at the server level (for example SSLProtocol All -SSLv2 -SSLv3 for apache), some clients are still defaulting to SSLv3, and Koji
