Transfer Crosstable to Word-Document
# Dear list, # I am an R-beginner and # spent the last days looking for a method to insert tables produced # with R into a word document. I thought about SPPS: copy a table from # an SPO-file and paste it into a word document # (if needed do some formatting with that table). # Annother idea was, to produce a TEX-file, # insert it and make it a word-table. # I found the following libraries, which

Interaction plots (six on one page)
#Dear R users, #I want six interaction plots to be on one page, #but the following problem occurs: the legend "BMIakt" appears, #but it is exactly on the border of the plots (too far right). #My seccond question is, how I can reduce the empty space in the y-direction #between the plots. #Please have a look at my syntax below. #Many thanks! #Udo myData <-

Barplot: Vertical bars with long labels
Dear List, I need a barplot with vertical bars. Each bar should have a label. The problem is, that the labels are too long, so they overlap, or only every seccond label is displayed in the output. Here is a little syntax: dd <- c(100,110,90,105,95) barplot(dd,names.arg=c('Conduct Disorders','Attention Deficit', 'Eating Disorders',

Comprehensive power analysis/sample size package in R?
Dear all, my colleague (a statistician - not yet using R) aked me, if there is a R package comparable to the software "PASS" (Power Analysis and Sample Size Procedures), comprising about 150 procedures. I found the R package "pwr". Are there other (more comprehensive) power analysis packages? Many thanks! Udo

Matched pairs with two data frames
Hi, I have a frame "treat" and want to find matched pairs in the data frame "control". In the matched (combined) data frame there should be two variables (0/1),indicating the "source" of the data (treat or control), so that it is possibe to set a "filter" (extraxt/select data). #Here are the dataframes (my real data frames have many variables) treat <-

Hmisc-xtable label
Dear all: Does anybody know about label conflicts between xtable and Hmisc? I found a couple of e-mails similar to this problem but is not clear to me how to get around the label problem. The first table(longtable below) is generated with the latex function from Hmisc but for some reason when I try to hyperlink to it,it takes me to the top of the document. The second table created with the xtable

help
Hi: I am going through some of the xtable examples and I can't make the one below work. I need to create a longtable on the fly keeping the column headers for all the pages and I thought this example could give some ideas on how to do it. I am using Sweave and xtable to create my tables and graphics. I wonder if someone could tell me what's wrong. Thanks ## Not run: \begin{small}

xtable - caption missing with float=FALSE
Hi, For some reason I'm finding that my table caption is disappearing if I print xtable output with the floating argument set to FALSE. Below is a very simple Sweave file that produces two tables the first has no caption and the second has a caption (if you want to see it http://www.zevross.com/temp/test.pdf). Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Zev (I'm using Windows 7, 64

Sweave and xtable
Dear List: I have some coded embedded within a LaTeX document where I subset a dataframe and use xtable to place it in my appendix. However, one of the tables is rather large and seems to extend beyond the page length. Is there a nice way to use Sweave to continue this table onto the next page? I could easily break this up in tex into two tables, but I imagine there is a better way of doing so.

R table as integrable object for large Latex Documents - avoiding SWeave
Hi, I am wondering whether some of you have a pointer to an alternative. I am currently writing my thesis in Latex (several documents), well grown over time, I am sure many of you are familiar with the situation. Likewise I am doing the quantitative analysis with R, and again a lot of lines of more or less wellwritten code. The outputs are graphs (which one can wonderfully integrate as PNG objects

Permanent change to the working directory
Dear helpers, I've looked in the help files (maybe not very thoroughly but I looked) and I couldn't find a straightforward way to permanently set the working directory (where I save and read files). Each time I startup R the working dir is automatically "C:/R/bin" [using:getwd()], and I know I can change it using setwd [for example setwd("C:/R/DATA"), but it's only

Hi all, I'm looking for a package that will give me comprehensive set of descriptive statistics, including skew and kurtosis. Also, is there a similar package that will provide multivariate descriptive statistics as well?
