G.729A + Cisco AS5300
Hello, I have 5 digium's g.729 codecs and succesfully register with asterisk, I have incomming call from my cisco AS5300 to Asterisk through IP. But Asterisk always use g711 ulaw instead of g.729. When I disable all other codecs other than g.729 in both cisco and asterisk, calls get dropped once connected. The codec list show on my cisco AS5300 for g.729 are: g729r8 g729br8 I suspect that

Re: Ring/Off-hook in strange state 6 on channel...
Hello Eric, call progress detection is the problem. Asterisk mistakenly recognizes the call to be answered and then still "hears" the ringing that should not be there if the line was really up. To solve the problem you would have to either implement a progress detection matching your country's indication tones or at least adjust the existing one for US or Costa Rica in dsp.c. By

Asterisk handling of SIP info
We encouter a situation where we need to use SIP info to convey infomation for one end point to another endpoint. I use asterisk to do the test and find asterisk does not forward the SIP info to another endpoint, but act as UAS and returns a 4xx error message. I think asterisk is not right to handle this SIP info message. In RFC 3261 Page 70 "This protocol is designed to be extended.

IE Sortable Style Problem
Hi Guys, I am having a problem in IE (tested versions 6 and 7 beta) with sortable divs in a container div with overflow set to scroll. It looks like all of the divs have their position set to relative after the sortable initializes, and also after being dragged. When a div (any element?) has a relative position in a containing div with overflow set to scroll, all of the divs with relative

pcre vs. regexp for Postfix checks
What are your opinions on pcre vs regexp for header_, body_, and mime_checks in Postfix? I looked at the regexp_table and prce_table man pages, and see almost no difference other than the available flags. Miark

Is OpenSSH vulnerable to the ZLIB problem or isn't it?
SSH.COM says their SSH2 is not vulnerable to the ZLIB problem even though they use the library (details below). Can OpenSSH say the same thing? In either case, it seems like there ought to be an openssh-unix-announce message about what the situation is. I may have missed it, but I don't believe there was one. Yes, openssh doesn't have its own copy of zlib source but it would still be

Typo in the documentation of prcomp. (PR#569)
The help for prcomp on R 1.0.0 states that the component sdev of the return value is the eigenvalues of the cov matrix. Am I completely mistaken, or should this be the _square root_ of the eigenvalues? Also, the documentation is not very clear about how tol is used to omit components. (The _code_ is clear, though. :-) -- B/H

bug with strptime, %OS, and "."
Hi R Devel, I just ran into a corner case with 'strptime'. Recall that the "%OS" conversion accepts fractional seconds: > strptime("17_35_14.01234.mp3","%H_%M_%OS.mp3")$sec [1] 14.01234 Unfortunately for my application it seems to be "greedy", in that it tries to parse a decimal point which might belong to the rest of the format: >

bug with strptime, %OS, and "."
Works for me: > strptime("17_35_14.01234.mp3","%H_%M_%OS")$sec [1] 14.01234 > strptime("17_35_14.mp3","%H_%M_%OS")$sec [1] 14 Just leave off the ".mp3" in your time pattern. Relevant section from the help ("Details") for strptime: strptime converts character vectors to class "POSIXlt": its input x is first converted by

Controller part of in-place editing
I''m doing some incremental improvements on scaffolding, and want to add in-place editing to an admin section. I think I may have the view part working right (at least, the editor pops up as expected) with this in my view: ### <% for link in @links %> <tr> <td> <div id="<%= ''url'' + link.id.to_s -%>"><%= link.url

Sortable Element with Partials?
Hi Everyone, I posted this last month and unfortunately, I didn''t recieve any replies. Maybe this time I''ll have better luck. I originally had my sortable element list working properly like so: <ul id="sortable_list"> <% @items.each do |item| %> <li id="item_<%= item.id %>"><%= image_tag "dragme.gif"

Optimizing nested function with nlminb()
I am trying to optimize custom likelyhood with nlminb() Arguments h and f are meant to be fixed. example.R: compute.hyper.log.likelyhood <- function(a, h, f) { a1 <- a[1] a2 <- a[2] l <- 0.0 for (j in 1:length(f)) { l <- l + lbeta(a1 + f[j], a2 + h - f[j]) - lbeta(a1, a2) } return(l) } compute.optimal.hyper.params <- function(start, limits, h_, f_) { result

Automatic implementation of "trivial" constraints in optimization
Hi all, I am wondering if anyone has implemented (or at least tried to) an automatic reparametrization in order to satisfy "trivial" constraints (in the sense of Dennis & Schnabel, 1983) in optimization problems. To be perhaps clearer let us consider a simple bi-exponential model for some recorded signal (sorry for the LaTex notations I hope they aren't too confusing): $s(t) = A

stochastic process transition probabilities estimation
Hi all, I'm new with R (and S), and relatively new to statistics (I'm a computer scientist), so I ask sorry in advance if my question is silly. My problem is this: I have a (sample of a) discrete time stochastic process {X_t} and I want to estimate Pr{ X_t | X_{t-l_1}, X_{t-l_2}, ..., X_{t-l_k} } where l_1, l_2, ..., l_k are some fixed time lags. It will be enough for me to compute
