plot time series / dates (basic)
Dear R users,
I'm having a hard time with some very simple things. I have a time
series where the dates are in the format 7-Oct-04. I imported the
file with read.csv so the date column is a factor. The series is
rather long and I want to plot it piece by piece. The function below
works fine, except that the labels for date are meaningless (ie

ROCR package question for evaluating two regression models
Hello All,
I have used logistic regression glm in R and I am evaluating two models both learned with glm but with different predictors. model1 <- glm (Y ~ x4+ x5+ x6+ x7, data = dat, family = binomial(link=logit))model2 <- glm (Y~ x1 + x2 +x3 , data = dat, family = binomial(link=logit))
and I would like to compare these two models based on the prediction that I get from each model:

initial value in 'vmmin' is not finite
Dear r helpers
I run the following code for nested logit and got a message that
Error in optim(c(0, 0, 0, 0, 0.1, -2, -0.2), fr, hessian = TRUE, method = "BFGS") : initial value in 'vmmin' is not finite
What does this mean? and how can I correct it?
Thank you

question on "optim"
Hey, R users
I do not know how to describe my question. I am a new user for R and write the
following?code for a dynamic labor economics?model and use OPTIM to get
optimizations and parameter values. the following code does not work due to
the?equation:
?? wden[,i]<-dnorm((1-regw[,i])/w[5])/w[5]

Problem creation tensor
Hi guys,
I need some help to analyzing my data.
I start to describe my data: I have 21 matrices, every matrix on the
rows has users and on columns has items, in my case films.
Element of index (i, j) represent the rating expressed by user i about item j.
I have a matrix for each of professions.
An example of a this type of matrix is:

comparing lm(), survreg( ... , dist="gaussian") and survreg( ... , dist="lognormal")
Dear R-Helpers:
I have tried everything I can think of and hope not to appear too foolish
when my error is pointed out to me.
I have some real data (18 points) that look linear on a log-log plot so I
used them for a comparison of lm() and survreg. There are no suspensions.

I get the following error message:

Decision boundaries for lda function?
Hi,
I am using the lda function from the MASS library. I would to find the
decision boundaries of each class and subsequently plot them. I wonder if
anybody can offer any help on this topic?
Below I applied the lda function on a small dataset of mine.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Trellis - setting xlim or ylim by data range in whole column or row
Dear List-mates,
I have been trying to set up a 4x8 trellis plot (that is, 4 columns, 8
rows), and would like to have the axis limits set based on the data range of
rows (for ylim) and columns (for xlim). I've been using the call:
foo<-xyplot(y~x|Epoch+Subject,
type=c("l","r"),
par.strip.text=list(cex=0.5),
...)
and updating to see different effects of scale

Finding LD50 from an interaction Generalised Linear model
Hi,
I have recently been attempting to find the LD50 from two predicted fits
(For male and females) in a Generalised linear model which models the effect
of both sex + logdose (and sex*logdose interaction) on proportion survival
(formula = y ~ ldose * sex, family = "binomial", data = dat (y is the
survival data)). I can obtain the LD50 for females using the dose.p()
command in the MASS

Plotting NLS profiles
Hello list,
I'm trying to plot nls profiles, but the plot.profile.nls function in
R doesn't seem to accept any plot.default variables. Specifically,
I'd like to be able to change the x-axis title and the colors to black
and white. Has anyone had any luck with this?
If not, is there a way to override to plotting colors, perhaps in par()?
Thanks,
Sam

how to use different ylim scales on a lattice bwplot?
A colleague is interested in modifying the ylim definition for individual
panels of a common bwplot plotting statement.
Is there an approach to modifying the bwplot function to allow for a
dynamic ylim range given different panel factors ?
He is using R 2.6.2 on a Linux distribution running from a CD.
Thanks for the assistance.

lattice 3x3 plot: force common y-limits accross rows and align x-axes
Good afternoon,
I would like to ask for help in controlling y-axis limits and labels in
lattice doplots. Unfortunately, the problem is somewhat convoluted,
please bear with the long explanation.
I would like to create a 3x3 lattice of dotplots, say subject ~ count.
The plot is conditioned on variables treatment and risk: subject ~ count
| treatment + risk. In the experiment, not all subjects

[LLVMdev] Question on the use of TableGen

I'm trying to create a new backend for a processor, and I start with
modifying the existing backends like MIPS and Microblaze.
I have a problem when I try to add a register class in the Target's register
description, it looks like this:
def IGPRegs : RegisterClass<"MBlaze", [v8i16], 128, [PR0, PR1, PR2, PR3]>;
// PR0 - PR3 are registers defined before
