trouble with snow and Rmpi
Dear R People:
I am having some trouble with the snow package.
It requires MPICH2 and Rmpi.
Rmpi is fine. However, I downloaded the MPICH2 package, and installed.
There is no mpicc, mpirun, etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions, please?
Thanks in advance!

Problem installing Rmpi with Open MPI
Hi guys,
I've spent a few days trying to install Rmpi with no luck. I originally
tried using mpich, moved on to mpich2, and then to openmpi. I've gotten
the furthest with openmpi, though am still running into this problem and
can't figure it out. Can someone help!? Thanks so much in advanced.
I'm using an HP Envy laptop with Ubuntu 12.04. Output is below, with the

Dear R yet again!
I finally got the Rmpi package to install! Yay!.
However, when I go into R to use it, there is an error with the dyn.load
file.
This should be simple (allegedly).
Please help.
Thanks,
Sincerely,
Erin

Problem installing Rmpi with lam on SGI SLES9
Hi,
I've been trying here to install Rmpi on an SGI IA-64 machine with 64
processors, running SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9, R 2.4.0 and
lam-mpi 7.1.3. While I've read of similar problems on this list, I
think I've got an entirely new set of error messages to contribute
(see below). I'm not sure what the actual error is and what the @gprel
relocation message is about. Any help

Rmpi loading error
I am running R 2.14.1 on a Windows XP (32 bit) system, and am trying to
install the package 'Rmpi' to allow me to parallel process on all cores of a
quad-core PC (and if that works well, I want to add extra slaves from a
dual-core laptop). Rmpi appears to install OK (see below), but I am
encountering the following error when I try and load the package:

Multicore computation in Windows network: How to set up Rmpi
R-users,
My question is related to earlier posts about benefits of quadcore over
dualcore computers; I am trying to setup a cluster of windows xp
computers so that eventually I could make use of 10-20 cpu:s, but for
learning how to do this, I am playing around with two laptops.
I thought that the package snow would come handy in this situation, but
to use snow, I would probably need to install

Rmpi failing to install with all latest MPI packages and config arguments
On FC10 with openmpi and mpich2 installed, the command "R CMD INSTALL
Rmpi_0.5-7.tar.gz --configure-args=--with-mpi=/usr/lib64/openmpi" (or
/usr/lib64/mpich2) fails with the error ''cannot find mpi.h". Doing a
(s)locate indicates no header file labeled as such. Would appreciate
any trailheads.
TIA,
V.

I'm having trouble with R CMD INSTALL Rmpi_0.5-5.tar.gz

lamboot -d (or lamboot-d and also recon) works. make -k check from the
lamtest suite passes all tests.
Is this is problem with the -fPIC compiler as in the message? Should it
be modified in the Makefile?
Any help or comments are appreciated, thanks.

Rmpi installation problems
Hi all,
I am trying to install the Rmpi package in R and, while the installation
itself works, it breaks down when trying to load the library. I think it
has something to do with shared vs static loading of helper libraries,
or the order in which shared libraries are loaded, but I am not sure.
