Retrieving x argument name from a trellis object in R 2.8.0
Dear all, let consider the following function: Fun1 <- function() { library(lattice) plot1 <- 1:10~1:10 pl1 <- xyplot(plot1) return(pl1$call$x) } In R 2.5.0 (or older version) we have > Fun1() plot1 but starting from R 2.5.1 until the latest R 2.8.0 we obtain instead > Fun1() NULL because pl1$call seems to be equal to xyplot() without arguments. [ggplot] trouble with ggabline and log-log-plots
Hello, I'm trying to generate a log-log plot with ggplot. Within this plot, I would like to draw a straight line with the help of ggabline which does not work. The code is pl1 <- qplot(correlFunc, correlFunc.ref, data=all, log=c("xy")) pl1 <- ggabline(pl1, slope=1, intercept=0) print(pl1) ## no line in plot :( I can produce plots as I want, if I transform all values before

Time series example in Koop
I am trying to reproduce the output of a time series example in Koop's book "Analysis of Financial Data". Koop does the example in Excel and I used the ts function followed by the lm function. I am unable to get the exact coefficients that Koop gives - my coefficients are slightly different. After loading the data file and attaching the frame, my code reads: > y = ts(m.cap) >

Sweave and graphics
Dear R-Users I think I am getting the hang of how sweave works. However there is one thing I am struggling with - nice small size graphics. How should I denormalise a data frame list of lists column?
Hi, I have a data frame where one column is a list of lists. I would like to subset the data frame based on membership of the lists in that column and be able to 'denormalise' the data frame so that a row is duplicated for each of its list elements. Example code follows: # The data is read in in this form with the c2 list values in single strings which I then split to give lists: > f1

print.citation, small bug?
Hi, I use Sweave extensively in my consulting work. When submitting reports to the scientists I work with I like to use the citation function to reference any packages I use, to give proper acknowledgement. I noted in the documentation that a citation inherits from bibentry, and indeed, > citr<- citation() > class(citr) [1] "citation" "bibentry" However, following

rpmforge vs epel
I've been informed that rpmforge and epel do not play well together and that if I use both, epel should have the higher (lower numbered) priority. Alas I had it the other way around. rpmforge messed up my effort to get audacity. I no longer need audacity, but would like to fix the situation before some other problem crops up. Would fixing the priorities and telling yum to reinstall all the

CentOS 6 gcc is a bit old
gcc (GCC) 4.4.7 20120313 (Red Hat 4.4.7-11) is a bit old. There have been major changes since then. I'd like a newer version. If I have to, I expect that I can install from source. I'd rather not. Is there a CentOS 6-compatible repository from which I can get a newer version? Does a standard CentOS 7 repository have a newer version? Does a CentOS 7-compatible repository have a newer
