Extract information from the summary of 'lm'
Hi Everyone, I just don't know how to extract the information I want from the summary of a linear regression model fitting. For example, I fit the following simple linear regression model: results = lm(y_var ~ x_var) summary(results) gives me: Call: lm(formula = y_var ~ x_var) Residuals: Min 1Q Median 3Q Max -5.9859 -1.5849 0.4574 2.0163 4.6015 Coefficients:

How to update an old unsupported package
Hi all, I have a package that is specific to a task I was repetitively using a few years ago. I now needed to run it again with new data. However I am told it was built with an older version or R and will not work. How can I tweak the package so it will run on 11.1? It was a one-off product and has not been maintained. Is there a way to "unpackage" it and repackage it to work? I

Strange result from GAMLSS

stacking consecutive columns
I have a file, each column of which is a separate year, and each row of each column is mean precipitation for that month. Looks like this (except it goes back to 1964). month X2000 X2001 X2002 X2003 X2004 X2005 X2006 X2007 X2008 X2009 1 1.600 1.010 4.320 2.110 0.925 3.275 3.460 0.675 1.315 2.920 2 2.960 3.905 3.230 2.380 2.720 1.880 2.430 1.380

P2Vs seem to require a very robust Ethernet
Now that we can gather diagnostic info, I think I know why our P2Vs kept failing last week. Another one just died right in front of my eyes. I think either the Ethernet or NFS server at this site occasionally "blips" offline when it gets busy and that messes up P2V migrations. The RHEV export domain is an NFS share offered by an old Storagetek NAS, connected over a 10/100 Ethernet.

test the significances of two regression lines
R-help, I'm trying to test the significance of two regression lines , i.e. the significance of the slopes from two samples originated from the same population. Is it correct if I fit a liner model for each sample and then test the slope signicance with 'anova'. Something like this: lm1 <- lm(Y~ a1 + b1*X) # sample 1 lm2 <- lm(Y~ a2 + b2*X) # sample 2 anova(lm1, lm2)

Nested ANCOVA question
Hello R experts, I have having a difficult time figuring out how to perform and interpret an ANCOVA of my nested experimental data and would love any suggestions that you might have. Here is the deal: 1) I have twelve tanks of fish (1-12), each with a bunch of fish in them 2) I have three treatments (1-3); 4 tanks per treatment. (each tank only has one treatment applied to it) 3) I sampled

help for segmented package
Hi, I am trying to find m breakpoints of a linear regression model. I used the segmented package. It works fine for small number of predicators and breakpoints.(3 r.v. 3 points). However, my model has 14 variables it even would not work even for just one breakpoints!. The error message is always estimated breakpoints are out of range. Since my problem is time related problem. So I

[LLVMdev] 2.1 Pre-Release Available (testers needed)
Hi, LLVM 2.1-pre1 test results: Linux (SUSE) on x86 (P4) Release mode, but with assertions enabled LLVM srcdir == objdir # of expected passes 2250 # of expected failures 5 I ran the llvm-test suite on my desktop while I was also working on that PC, so don't put too much trust in the timing info. Especially during the "spiff" test the machine was swapping

[LLVMdev] 2.1 Pre-Release Available (testers needed)
LLVMers, The 2.1 pre-release (version 1) is available for testing: http://llvm.org/prereleases/2.1/version1/ I'm looking for members of the LLVM community to test the 2.1 release. There are 2 ways you can help: 1) Download llvm-2.1, llvm-test-2.1, and the appropriate llvm-gcc4.0 binary. Run "make check" and the full llvm-test suite (make TEST=nightly report). 2) Download

eth0 on dom0 not working on a bridged conf
Hi, I''ve installed xen 3.0.3 from packages (xen-linux-system) on a debian etch, and i''ve configured it with network-bridge script in the default way (netdev=eth0, bridge=xenbr0, etc...) which is ok for me. the problem I have: I cannot ping any outer machine from dom0 (nor any outer machine can ping me). It gives me a "Destination Host Unreachable" message that
