Question about "generic" USB <=> Serial Port kernel drivers...
OK, I am running CentOS 6 on my Laptop and Desktop, presently kernel version 2.6.32-696.20.1.el6.x86_64 (yes, a version or so out of date -- I'll probably do an update soon -- non-trivial since my Internet connection is via dialup). I recently bought a couple of Adafruit Arduino compatibles, a Flora and a Metro 328. Hooking up the Flora and the Metro to a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian

Does anyone have an R Syntax Highlighting file {userDefineLang.xml} for NotePad++?? I've started one, but I'm not so happy with it. Question regarding HTB
Ok, So I am from Romania where we have this tiny problem. The IP clases are split in 2: metropolitan and extern (worldwide). We have 2 types of guaranteed band: metro and extern. Now.. the link comes into my gw. I have an IP which my ISP gave it to me which is eth0. I have 2 other PI clasess 194.126.178.0/23. What I want to do is this: make a HTB script which can limit the bandwidth on each PI

nuisance variables
*Dear experts,* Please excuse me for disturbing... Right now I am struggling with GLM a bit... Would you be so kind to provide me a solution on using nuisance variables. The problem is that I have data on Depression (volumetric measurements of different brain regions) and I want to include age, gender and education as nuisance parameters in the model. In the other words I would like to model the

How do I get xtabs to show missing data?
I presume the behavior below (no Connector values in the second table) is because I have na values in my dataframe. How do I get them to list? I found references to na.action and na.pass, but I could not figure out how I could use them with xtabs to list the na as a value. I'm sure there's a simple syntax I need, but it's not obvious to me. > # Weighted Data

Still can't find missing data
I'm trying to prepare some cross tabs, looking at a number of variables against a variable "connector" which has 2 values: "OD Passenger" and " Connector". When I produce a xtabs one way I have observations under "Connector" but against a different variable "Connector" shows all 0 values. What is wrong? I've looked into the na commands

Survey questions
First the R question. I have the results of a rather large survey (thousands of forms, each with dozens of questions) with some existing weights and expansion factors. I wish to add additional weighting factors, based on new information that elements of certain variables should appear in certain proportions. Where should I look in R to develop what is essentially an N-dimensional balancing

Possible repeat{} / break function bug in R 3.4.1
I don't think that's a bug. source() uses eval(), and eval() creates a new function-like context frame. In a way expecting `break` to work inside source() is like expecting `break` to cross stack frames: my_break <- function() break repeat(my_break()) Lionel > On 23 ao?t 2017, at 09:17, Martin Maechler <maechler at stat.math.ethz.ch> wrote: >

data.frame() creates list?
I obviously don't know what I'm doing. I want to create "ByEBNum" as a data frame, but it comes out as a list. Simple (?) subset problem
I can't figure out the syntax I need to get subset to work. I'm trying to split my dataframe into two parts. I'm sure this is a simple issue, but I'm stumped. I either get all or none of the original "rows". > XTTable <- xtabs( ~ direction_ , SurveyData) > XTTable direction_ EASTBOUND

Possible repeat{} / break function bug in R 3.4.1
oops, I should have tried it: expr <- quote(break) repeat(eval(expr)) So eval() has hybrid semantics where `break` has more reach than return(), weird. expr <- quote(return()) repeat(eval(expr)) # infloop Lionel > On 23 ao?t 2017, at 09:24, Tomas Kalibera <tomas.kalibera at gmail.com> wrote: > > It is a bug in the byte-code compiler. Possible repeat{} / break function bug in R 3.4.1
Fixed in 73112. If you needed to run this code in unpatched versions of R, you can disable the problematic compiler optimization in the loop for instance by adding "eval(NULL)" to the body of the loop. However, please do not forget to remove this for future versions of R and specifically do not assume this would turn off a particular compiler optimization in future versions. Best

Simple Question: adding points to a boxplot
I apologize in advance for the simplicity of this question. I use R 2-3 times a year, and I seem to forget more in the intervening months than I learn during my days of panicked reading.... I HAVE tried looking at the help resources; I'm just not very good at understanding them. I have a dataframe with 18 observations of 5 different things, and a second dataframe with and estimate for those

newbie subset question
I want to look at all the records making up a "row and column" of a crosstab, but I'm not getting it right. I'm trying to use subset() but my selection ((prod_act=="other") || (attr_act=="other")) gives my no records. See the second table below. Getting just the row does work, as seen in the third table. Why is this failing me? > .Table <-

Possible repeat{} / break function bug in R 3.4.1
Hello, I've noticed the following error using repeat{} / break in R 3.4.1 running on Windows 10 and Windows Server 2008 (both 64-bit environments). When running a repeat function, the break command causes an error message if the repeat command refers to code within a file, but does not produce an error if the code is contained within the repeat{} command. For example, the following code runs

Survey Design / Rake questions
I'm trying to learn how to calibrate/postStratify/rake survey data in preparation for a large survey effort we're about to embark upon. As a working example, I have results from a small survey of ~650 respondents, ~90 response fields each. I'm trying to learn how to (properly?) apply the aforementioned functions. My data are from a bus on board survey. The expansion in the
