Hi, I have a bunch of link_to''s in my code that are simple Back buttons that should basically just go to the previous request. Is there a way of doing this without specifying the action to execute? The problem is, sometimes I may render the same view through separate actions so I wouldn''t know which action to go back to. Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

adding an onclick option to link_to method
Hello, I''m trying to use the rail link_to to open a popup window and then print the popup window at the same time. Is there a way to add another "onclick" option to tell the popup to print? I know how to do this in javascript but not sure how to use the rails help to do it. I also am aware that the link_to_function method is used to call a javascript function.

Rails: View specs and implicit parameters in link_to()
Hi all, I''ve been cleaning up our routing file, and removed the default map.connect ":controller/:action" route. It''s thrown up a bunch of sloppy mistakes, which is great, but I also think I''ve found a problem with the view specs. We have a generic navbar partial which is rendered in the index page of several different controllers. The navbar contains

link_to :post true Newbie question
Hi All, I am attempting to use a link_to helper to perform a form post using the following construct: <%= link_to ''Save'', {:action =>''create''}, :post => true %> What I find is the parameters passed to the webserver are empty. My model validation stuff triggers indicating the fields in question are empty too. This is to create a new DB entry so no

session[:return_to] for going back.
Hi, Is session[:return_to] something Rails maintains to quickly go back to the previous uri without having to keep track of the action name? Or, do we have to actually set it in our actions? How to extend a helper using plugin?
Hello, I''m facing this problem while trying to extend the parse_redmine_links helper method in Redmine-1.1.0 (Rails-2.3.5) from my plugin. My idea is to use alias_method_chain so the extended version could call the original version and adjust the result to it''s liking. Anything I''ve tried so far exposes this behavior: the first render of a page uses the extended

How-to spec this helper method?...
Hey gang, I have this dead-simple method defined in a helper: def add_category_link(name) link_to_function name do |page| page.insert_html :bottom, :categories, :partial => ''category'', :object => Category.new end end Where, and mostly how, would I spec this? I haven''t been able to find how to stub the rjs in a helper spec, so

helper spec not finding rails core helpers
Hi, My helper specs were going ok until I added a call to a rails DateHelper method in one of my helpers http://api.rubyonrails.com/classes/ActionView/Helpers/ DateHelper.html#M000574 The helper runs fine from my view templates, just dies in the spec test. I boiled my question down to a simple (not too useful) example. I''m not sure what I''m missing. #

Looking for some help with extending existing classes. In a view I have <td><%=h bmevent.node %></td>. I need further processing on the output and added a helper: module ApplicationHelper class String def a self[ /^[^\0]*/ ] end end end and <td><%=h bmevent.node.a %></td> results in an undefined method `a'' for #<String:0xb6c8105c>
