Migration question: .INBOX?
Hi, Not much left to fix in my migration script (moving between two dovecot servers). However, I discovered a mail folder .INBOX without cur, new and tmp subfolders, and the .imap.index files were rather old (feb 2006). Is this an old relic from early dovecot versions (I once ran 0.99 on this old server)? Or is it old client software? There are no data in it. TIA, Peter -- Peter Lindgren

Default dirs in ./configure?
Hi! I try to build a new 1.1.7 installation. Since I'm not a large sysadmin, just my own private mail server admin, I just wonder why the sysconf and state dirs defaults to $prefix? Maybe I'm old-school, but isn't /etc and /var, respectively, a better default than /usr/local? Should require two new variables in the configure script, though. (and yes, I know I set them with

Move from 1.0.rc29 to 1.1.7?
Hello! I am moving my mail from the old server with 1.0.rc29 to a brand new server with 1.1.7. I use Maildir in both servers. A few questions: 1) The new server has another name, can I just copy the mail files as-is, will the server name in the file names matter? 2) The new server has a different architecture and different endian, so I plan not to copy the index and cache files; they seem to

HowTo: Samba with ADS security in CentOS 5
Hello! I have recently gone through the hassle of trying to get a CentOS 5 server (no gui) with Samba to use ADS for security. After several days of googling and trying different howtos I finally got it working, I now want to write a howto for CentOS 5, Samba 3.0 and Windows Server 2003 SP2. Basically it's a combination of http://www.howtoforge.com/samba_ads_security_mode and

Script: Moving Maildirs between servers
Hi, I just migrated from dovecot 1.0.rc29 to 1.1.7, from Sparc platform to Intel, it went very well. In the process I merged folders and excluded folders from being copied. User rights on folders were kept/set. I thought I'd share my migration script with you folks. If there's an interest to put it on the wiki I can do that, but I'm not sure in what page. Use it as a starter if you

Dell problems with PXELINUX 3.62
Hello. We've been using a very old version of SYS-/PXELINUX, 3.36, going by the proven "if it works, don't break it" philosophy. We us it mostly to load floppy disk images to kick off OS installations. Unfortunately we've recently had some PXE menu problems (USB keyboard stopped working) for a certain Fujitsu PC model, and decided to upgrade to the latest version, i e 3.84.

RandomForest Proximity Matrix
Greetings R Users! I am posting to inquire about the proximity matrix in the randomForest R-package. I am having difficulty pushing very large data through the algorithm and it appears to hang on the building of the prox matrix. I have read on Dr. Breiman's website that in the original code a choice can be made between using an N x N matrix OR to increase the ability to compute large

Custom crypto in hardware
Hi Freebies!! I know F-BSD 4.8 supports a framework in the kernel to use crypto functions from hifn crypto cards. Is there any of these cards that support custom crypto? What is the best route to go if I want to support IPSec (and maybe other) crypto functions but with custom crypto algorithms? Any info or ideas will be appreciated. Thanks Peut

Problems with 4.04-pre14
Hello. I've been testing pxelinux.0 (4.04-pre14) on some laptops: - HP EliteBook 6930P with BIOS F.18. - HP EliteBook 8440P with BIOS F.06. - Dell Latitude E4310 with BIOS A06. When booting pxelinux.0, the machines first display some random letters in different colors and then reboot. We've been using 4.02 for some time without problems. I've tested 4.03 too and it seems to work.

RFD: Internationalizing the menu system
I know quite a few people have interest in internationalizing the menu system. This is a tricky problem, since have a full-blown rendering engine for the more complex languages (Indic, Semitic and East Asian languages being the main ones that have substantial complexities.) Given that, I was thinking that the most sensible thing might be to pre-render strings (basically menu items and

Unable to mount root fs
Hey all, I'am able to use pxelinux to successfully boot a particular kernel and image on various IBM PC's ex. 6287-41U and 6591-34U. However, using the same setup (ie. dhcp, tftp, pxelinux.0, pxelinux.cfg, networkcard, bootrom, ram memory) on an IBM 6282-73U my kernel and image decompress fine but I'am getting a... Remove gpxe or replace with ipxe?
The gPXE in the Syslinux tree is ridiculously old. We could either replace it with iPXE or just drop it, giving people a recipe for how to integrate with iPXE themselves. What do people think? -hpa

Growing out of floppy images, what's the best alternative?
Hi. We've been using PXELINUX for years, to kick off OS installations (floppy images) and booting assorted tools. The addition of ISO support in memdisk opened up some new alternatives that we also use, e.g. booting WinPE ISO images over PXE. Today I downloaded a BIOS for a HP EliteBook 8440p and discovered that the BIOS file is 3 MB. I could probably squeeze it onto a 2.88 MB floppy image

PR#1132.
Just now I again had occasion to want nested describe lists in a documentation file. I found that the bug which I reported on 18 October, 2001 still persists. I checked on the bug report at the R web page, and found that the notes say ``Not a problem in R 1.4.0 (2001-12-08)''. Well, it's still a problem for me --- using R 1.4.1.
