Compilation error on mgcv_1.1-7 on OS X (10.3)
Greetings I run into a compilation error when updating to mgcv_1.1-7 in R 2.0.0 on OS X 10.3. Note that other pacakges have compiled nicely. Some details are given below, but in short it looks like it's seeking for /usr/local/lib/powerpc-apple-darwin6.8/3.4.2/ which I don't have. But I do have /usr/lib/gcc/darwin/3.3 i.e a lower version of GCC in a different directory. More

configure succeeds without dlfcn.h, but fails to compile (OS X) (PR#2875)
Full_Name: Alex Buerkle Version: 1.7.0 OS: OS X Submission from: (NULL) (137.28.112.199) The configure of R-1.7.0 completed, but the build fails with error below. This failure appears to be because dlfcn.h was missing (installing it fixed the problem). The possible bug: my limited ability to read ./configure suggests that it tests for dlfcn.h, but does not fail if it doesn't find it on

pdf files, change in content
There seems to be something different about pdf files generated under RAqua (1.8.1). I am losing text. I am not sure when things changed but, on Carbon 1.7, when files were 'drag and dropped' onto another application they worked fine. Now the text is lost but the graphics are intact. However the text is there when viewed with Acrobat. On the other hand, if I output to an eps file and

Latest R-devel build failing on OS X
Yes, the nightly build is broken in a similar, but different way. See below. Both seem to be readline related, so Frederick Eaton's patches, which Martin committed yesterday are the likely culprit. I had actually tested them and things seemed to work, but it was on a different machine and not a completely clean build. -pd ..... ranlib: file: libR.a(printf.o) has no symbols gcc
