Getting rspec error: Net::SMTPServerBusy: Relay access denied
I''m trying to test registration emails (sent with devise), and I keep getting the error: Net::SMTPServerBusy: 454 4.7.1 <model_spec-hcDgGtZH8xNBDgjK7y7TUQ@public.gmane.org>: Relay access denied I''m running Rails 3.2.11 with Capybara, and I have (temporarily) chopped my spec_helper.rb and test.rb files down to the bare minimum, still getting the error above.

Rookie with ActionMailer
To start out I''ll say that this is the first thing that I''ve ever built that''s been intended to programmatically send email. I''m looking at examples in AWR and also on the wiki. I feel that I sort of have things set up right but I''m getting an error I can''t grok: Net::SMTPFatalError in Home#email_list 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for

AJAX Search w/database results
Hey, I have a main page that lists a table of Devices, along with a Search box. I''d like to have the Search field pull up any related Devices, and then re-populate the table. I can do this without AJAX, just calling my List action over again, passing the params to search on, but with AJAX I get the error, "Cannot convert nil to string" on this line: @device_pages, @devices =

Actionmailer sending many emails in same SMTP connection?
Hi, I need to implement a mailing list system, Actionmailer is great, but i haven''t found out a way to send many (hundreds of) emails without having to reconnect to the SMTP server for each mail when calling Mymailer::deliver_my_mail(recipient) Any tips? (Possibly without calling directly Net::SMTP, so i can take advantage of the rhtml rendering of the body) Thanks, Best regards,

1.9 Compat and merging mail gem into ActionMailer
Hi all of both RoR Core and TMail. You may know me better as the maintainer of TMail. However, TMail has been a bit difficult to get working with Ruby 1.9, so in the light of that, I sat down over the past few months and wrote myself an all encompasing mail gem. Mail passes all of its hundreds of specs equally well in Ruby 1.8.6, 1.8.7 and 1.9.1. Mail reads every email in the TMail test suite

Mail now in ActionMailer
OK everyone, so we finally have Mail merged into ActionMailer replacing out TMail This is for the 3.0 release, and not part of the 2.x tree. I am the TMail maintainer and I decided this year to write a ruby email handler, the Mail gem is my solution to this. Mail takes a very object oriented approach to email. It conforms to RFCs as closely as practical and parses the 0.5gb Trec and 2.5Gb

How to set ''Return-Path'' in ActionMailer to avoid SPF failure?
I was wondering if there was any way to set the ''Return-Path'' of an email when using ActionMailer. Without the ability to set the ''Return-Path'' of an email, it is impossible to avoid being labeled as ''spam'' by many SMTP gateways if trying to send mail on another''s behalf. SPF doesn''t care about the

url_for in tests
Hi there, I''ve added an extra bunch of testing features for doing in-browser testing with Selenium, and am having quite a time figuring out how to use url_for with having a controller object present. I''ve tried using ActionController::Base.url_for and ActionView::Helpers::UrlHelper.url_for but haven''t been able to get something that works. What I want to be able

ActionMailer - Message-id issue
Whenever I send e-mails through rails, part of the header comes out as follows: From: johndoe@domain1.com To: janedoe@domain2.com Message-Id: <442aba6514d50_154f7ba03530@iMac.local.tmail> With Outlook 2003 SP2''s new "anti-phishing" feature, it''s tagging all of these e-mails as junk. I tried sending the same content from my mail software, using the same

ActionMailer outside of Rails?
Has anyone used ActionMailer outside of rails? I have a requirement for work that will not allow me to do this from within a rails app. I have successfully sent an email in the following manner: MyMailer.deliver_clever_email(someArg,''testing!'') where the second argument is the body of the email, but when I try to call just: MyMailer.deliver_clever_email(someAr) and use a

Does TMail support Nested Multipart Messages? (Repost)
Hi, does anybody know if TMail supports nested multipart messages? I read a changelog that indicates so (http://dev.rubyonrails.org/svn/rails/trunk/actionmailer/CHANGELOG), but I haven''t been able to get it working so far. Maybe I am doing something wrong here? I attached the sample mail. Here is the code to parse it: require File.dirname(__FILE__) +

Dynamic actions and views
Hi, I have a set of messages stored in the db. These are email messages that I have to send based on some condition. This is not the way I had been doing all these days. I used to create an action in my controller (class Notifier < ActionMailer::ARMailer) and then create an rhtml file with the email content and then say Notifier::deliver_my_email_message to send out the emails. But now that I

ActionMailer and PDF Attachment and corrupt file?
Community, I''m struggling with an issue and I''m sure it is trivial but I cannot find the solution. I''m trying to attach a PDF file to an email. For simplicity, I have explicitely named a given file but when I get the email, the attachment is only a partial of the document which causes it to be corrupt. Sample below: @recipients =
