About creating an import library
Hi all,
First of all, I found R.exp. Thanks. The following is a paragraph I
copied from Venables and Ripley’s book “S programming” on Page242.
If the code calls entry points in the R engine, create an import library
from the file R.exp in the source-package distribution by
lib /def: R.exp /machine: ix386 /out: Rdll.lib
and add
Rdll.lib
to the link command or add it to the libraries to be used

Questions about Preserving registers
Hi folks,
I tried to use Mirosoft Fortran Powerstation 4.0 to create a dll file.
However, when I used the command dyn.load(“test.dll”), I got the
following message:
NULL
Warning message:
DLL attempted to change FPU control word from 9001f to 90003
I read the instruction on Duncan Murdoch’s website about preserving
registers, but I still don’t understand it. For example,

How to use c routines in the exiting package?
Hi all,
I want to know some details about the c routine “lasso” in the functions
of “gl1ce()” . However, I have following troubles. First, I can not
find the routine in the local directories of this function (or package).
Second, if I found the routine, could I call it just like this way, say,
fit <- .C("lasso", …,PACKAGE = "lasso2") in my own functions. My system

Everything was ok, but I failed to get .o file in g77
Hi folks,
I tried to compile a FORTRAN routine using the command “g77 –o2 –c
all.f”, it seems everything is fine, there is no error message at all,
but finally I can not get the file all.o. Therefore, I can not move on
to the next step using “g77 –shared –c all.dll all.o” to get the file
all.dll. The following is what happened on my screen:
> g77 –o2 –c all.f

Error compiling ROracle on Windows 2000
Hello,
I am trying to compile ROracle _0.5-4 under R 1.9.0 without much success. I am running Windows 2000 SP4, Visual C++ 6.0 SP6, and Oracle client 9.2.0.1.0. I was able to run the pre-compiled version of ROracle_0.5-2 under R 1.7.1, but does not work on R 1.8.1 or R 1.9.0. Here is the output from nmake:

File locks?
Hello,
Recently, the following problem started happening with a particular samba
server:
If i have a file open for reading (say, a pdf in xpdf) and then try to write
to it (say, through recompiling a latex document) it complains that it
cannot open the file for writing.
this seems like a file lock issue but I am unsure where it is happening. My
previous usage should be perfectly safe since

Creating a Windows import lib from R.dll (x64)?
Hello,
The procedure for creating an import library (Rdll.lib) that is documented
in gnuwin32/README.packages works fine using the i386 architecture, but
it doesn't seem to work under x64.
Specifically, the procedure is:
pexports R.dll > R.exp
lib /def:R.exp /out:Rdll.lib /machine:X86 R.dll
There are two issues under x64:
1. Older version of pexports crash when applied to an x64 R.dll.

Building Rdll.lib with Visual C++

Using Visual C++
================
You may if you prefer use Visual C++ to make the DLLs (unless they use
Fortran source!). The notes here were tested with VC++6.
First build the import library Rdll.lib by
make R.exp
...
In the installation (R-2.6.0-win32.exe) there is no Makefile with an
R.exp target that I could find and I get

Hi,
I have an R script (transferred from SPLUS) and would like to compile a
standalone EXE (or DLL)

Hi All,
I tried combing through the archives, but I think that I just went
mental. We're trying to set up a pxe server here using syslinux 2.0.6,

receives ip, server to go to and file to fetch.
fetches and executes pxelinux.0
fetches pxelinux.cfg/default
fetches display.msg (defined in default)

R.exp file for building packages
I am trying to port some C code from S-Plus (7.0.6) to R (2.4.0) under
Windows XP SP2. I use Visual C++ 6.0 to build my library for S-Plus, so I'd
like to stick with that set up, if possible. According to the
README.packages file, I need the file R.exp (containing functions exported
from R.dll, I'm guessing) to build an R package with VC++.

Using functions in LAPACK in a C program
Hi,
I wonder where I can find an example of using a function in LAPACK library in a user's own C code. I wrote a C program which will be compiled and linked to produce a DLL file and then loaded into R. I hope to use a function from LAPACK library, for example, dgesdd, in the program. Following R manual, I call the function by F77_CALL(dgesdd) in the program. The program can be compiled

Is the following problem unique to my setup?
If it's a known problem, I didn't see it at

Produces expected results according to ?xy.coords.
