Problems Generating Scaffolding
I am having trouble generating some of my scaffolding. I''m trying to use PostgreSQL as my back-end. Some of my scaffolding generates with no problem but for other parts I get this: Before updating scaffolding from new DB schema, try creating a table for your model The tables do exist. At least I can see them from psql. Here is the SQL I''m using to create my tables: CREATE

a very simple problem, but unknown solution
In our environemt, we use PCs (NT) running a JVM that produces unique file names, and data content about 100K or less. We only write to these file. The JVM (the application) does spawn many threads so the net effect can be many simultaneous file creation requests from one PC. All the files are written to a samba mounted directory, and the directory *file* itself does get somewhat large. The

Validation error handling on related models
I have 2 models, entity and client. Entity has_one client and client belongs_to entity. Entity has attributes name and legal_name. Entity also has an unique index on (lower(name)). The pKey for both is the conventional Rails id. Client has a fKey constraint on entity_id and is indexed in entity_id. In controllers/clients_controller.rb I have: # GET /clients/new # GET /clients/new.xml

RODBC and schemas
I have found that the "schema.table" syntax used in Postgresql (and Oracle) does not work directly with RODBC. This works library(RODBC) con<-odbcConnect("mydb") d<-sqlQuery(con,"select * from meso.trees") However this does not. d<-sqlFetch(con,"meso.trees") Error in odbcTableExists(channel, sqtable) : ?meso.trees?: table not found on channel

SNMP and OID/MIB/MRTG
Hi all. I am having an issue and quite frankly would rather not spend the entire next two days learning the entire snmp program. I am hoping someone out there has used MRTG and SNMP to make it work. I have both installed. Single server, polling itself. Question 1- does snmpd have to run as a daemon, or only run once so I can get OID and MIBs from it? Question 2- does anyone know the command

Hello, everyody, when asking, e.g., Effect() to compute the effects of a fitted, e.g., linear model after having deleted the data frame from the workspace for which the model was obtained an error is reported: > myair <- airquality > fm <- lm(Ozone ~ Temp, data = myair) > rm(myair) > Effect("Temp", fm) Error in eval(model$call$data, envir) : object 'myair'

Foreign keys not showing!
I''m new at this so please be patient. I have a very simple schema consisting of a around 10 tables in Postgresql. The aim is to provide a system for PC administrators to keep track of PC''s dotted around various venues (shops, libraries etc.). The sort of info I want to store is PC specs, PC network specs, PC ownership specs, PC location specs and contact person details. So I end

snmp-ups shutdowns
This apparently implies that, unlike some docs say, the snmp-ups driver can send the shutdown signals (is not crippled by design)? ;) Also, are those oids apc-private or commonly used/standard among snmp upses? Samba + ACLs: Can’t add group write permissions
Hi there, I?ve been trying to get my head around a problem I have with Samba. I?ve set up Samba 3.6.13 on a Raspberry Pi with Arch Linux ARM on it and let it serve a couple of folders from an attached external ext4 drive mounted to /srv/cifs (of course with the "acl" option enabled). I?ve been trying to create a share that is read-writable for all members of a particular UNIX user

Help with scaling puppetdb/postgres
Hello, I''m currently trying to deploy puppetdb to my environment but I''m having difficulties and am unsure on how to proceed. I have 1300+ nodes checking in at 15 minute intervals (3.7 million resources in the population). The load is spread across 6 puppet masters. I requisitioned what I thought would be a powerful enough machine for the puppetdb/postgres server. A machine

xspline(..., draw=FALSE) fails if there is no open device (PR#10727)
Full_Name: Jari Oksanen Version: 2.6.2 RC (2008-02-07 r44369) OS: Linux Submission from: (NULL) (130.231.102.145) Even if function xspline() is called with argument draw=FALSE, it requires a graphics device (that it won't use since it was draw=FALSE). I run into this because I intended to use xspline within a function (that does not yet draw: there is plot method for that), and the function

SNMP on HP UPS
We use HP R5500XR UPS, and they all have SNMP cards. These devices supposedly use the IETF MIB, but in order to get the SNMP driver to talk to them I have had to hack it slightly. I'd like to see these UPS proplerly supported in the official nut release (mostly so I don't have to faff around patching and repackaging when a new version comes out) and would be more than happy to provide

RPC Server Unavailable Message
Greetings, We've been testing Sernet Samba AD and are running into trouble with the RPC server unavailable message when trying to edit group policy and manage users with Windows 8.1. Upon restarting the service, we can connect to the RPC server, but after 24 hours or less, we can no longer connect. I've been trying to find more information about this issue, which was apparently

snmp-ups and constants in snmp_info_t snmp2nut tables
Hi all, Trying to add support for my unit, which is a 3-phase UPS. I can't find any oids that holds that data so I can determine that, so I think I need to add it statically. I've tried the following, (nut-2.7.2) ... { "input.phases", 0, 1.0, NULL, "3", SU_FLAG_SETINT, NULL, &input_phases }, ... That ends up as (snmp-ups -a foo -DDDD) ... 0.177686 getting

apcsmart and ambient data
Perhaps someone else could confirm this, I have an APC UPS with a built-in network management card with environmental sensor for temp/humidity. The OID index for the sensors appears to be .1 (the last component for each of the OIDs listed below). The original source code has them at .0 drivers/apccmib.h #define APCC_OID_IEM_TEMP ".1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.10.2.3.2.1.4.1" #define
