: BIC for gls models
Hi all, I would like to know how the BIC criterion is calculated for models estimated using gls( ) function. I read in Pinheiro & Bates (2000) p84 that BIC = -2logL + npar*log(N) (for the ML method), or BIC = -2logLR + npar*log(N-p) (for the REML method) but when I use any of these formulae I don't obtain the result given by R. Thanks in advance for any help. Eve CORDA Office national

: performing marginal tests to glm objects
Dear all, I wonder if it is possible to obtain marginal tests for effects in generalized linear models. Indeed, the anova function produces sequential tests and it doesn't have any "type" argument to specify that we would like marginal tests instead, as in the similar anova function for lme objects. Thanks a lot for your help! Eve CORDA Office national de la chasse et de la faune

[slightly OT] predict.randomForest and type=”prob”
Dear all , I would like to use the function randomForest to predict the probability of relocation failure of a GPS collar as a function of several environmental variables x (both factor and numeric: slope, vegetation, etc.) on a given area. The response variable y is thus success (0)/failure(1) of the relocation, and the sampling unit is the pixel of a raster map. My aim is to build a map

adehabitat version 1.8
Dear all, I have uploaded to CRAN the version 1.8 of the package 'adehabitat'. Significant changes are listed below: * getverticeshr now relies on the function contourLines(), and returns smoother estimates of the kernel home range (see the help page). * the new function kernelkc (and related functions) now allows the estimation of the utilization distribution in space and time of

asc class object - how to get positions (coordinates) for a given raster ID?
In a raster asc object, I'd like to take the positions (x and y coordinates) for a given "pixel" ID. Any idea about how to do this? _______________ Paulo E. Cardoso [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Polybench llvm's IR -fopenmp
Hi all, I'm trying to get the llvm's IR from the source code of Polybench (OMP) https://github.com/cavazos-lab/PolyBench-ACC/tree/master/OpenMP. I noticed a considerable difference between the IR generated using clang -emit-llvm -fopenmp and clang -emit-llvm: * using the -fopenmp flag I get a simplified IR in which I read a single basic block where I can highlight a llvm.memcpy

adehabitatMA, LT, HR and HS version 0.1
Dear all, I have just uploaded 4 new packages on CRAN, which are on the long term designed to replace the "old" package adehabitat: * adehabitatMA: functions to perform spatial operations (morphology, buffer, etc.) * adehabitatHS: functions for the analysis of habitat selection by wildlife * adehabitatHR: functions for home range estimation of animals * adehabitatLT: functions for

PBIB datataset
I'm looking at Pinheiro & Bates "Mixed-Effects Models in S and S-PLUS" at the moment. Several datasets are used, one of which is called "PBIB" (a partially balanced incomplete block design). All the other datasets can be found somewhere or other in R. However, I cannot locate PBIB, and it does not seem to be mentioned in the latest edition of the R Full Reference

Error with named chunks in Sweave with the development version of R

data files in R
Dear all, I'm new in using R. I've downloaded nlme library in which data files, which can be found in 'DATA' folder, have .rda extension. On the other side, data files for the base software have .R extension. I succeeded in using .R data files with R but not .rda data files. I would be thankful for any help. Eve

adjusting the map of France to 1830
I'm doing some analyses of historical data from France in 1830 on 'moral statistics' that I'd like to show on a map. I've done most of my analyses in SAS, but a few things would work better in R. To do this, I have to adjust the modern map, library(maps) map('france') to adjust for changes in departments (86 in 1830, to 97 now). I've read the documentation

deprecated options in sshd_config
Hello, First, my apologies: It's -practically- sure this ML is not the good place to, but I don't find better for now. I jumped from an OS to an other since few days. On the new one, openssh comes in a much newer version (good thing): 7.6p1 sshd lets me know that there are two depreciated options: - KeyRegenerationInterval - UsePrivilegeSeparation I search for a place where I can find
