S-Plus compatability...
Dear all, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to solve a problem I've encountered. I have a set of S-plus scripts which call an external program to analyse the data (the external program is called Genehunter and is used for genetic analysis). There are a six scripts in total, five of which are called from the main script. I made a few changes like changing

[LLVMdev] Performance problems with FORTRAN allocatable arrays
I've noticed that LLVM does a bad job of optimizing array indexing code for FORTRAN arrays declared using the ALLOCATABLE keyword. For example if you have something like the following: DOUBLE PRECISION,ALLOCATABLE,DIMENSION(:,:,:,:) :: QAV ... ALLOCATE( QAV( -2:IMAX+2,-2:JMAX+2,-2:KMAX+2,ND) ) ... DO L = 1, 5 DO K = K1, K2 DO J = J1, J2 DO I = I1, I2 II = I +

Hi, How can I partitioned an example vector like this > print(myvector) [1] 30.9 60.1 70.0 73.0 75.0 83.9 93.1 97.6 98.8 113.9 into the following pairwise partition: PAIR1 part1 = 30.9 part2 = 60.1 70.0 73.0 75.0 83.9 93.1 97.6 98.8 113.9 PAIR2 part1 = 30.9 60.1 part2 = 70.0 73.0 75.0 83.9 93.1 97.6 98.8 113.9 .... Not so complex CompleteConfiguration example of a Complete Configuration?
I am new to Puppet and very eager to apply it to a project. But I am somewhat stymied by the learning curve. So far I''ve found many very simple examples of how to modify a file or add a user and a very complex example http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/CompleteConfiguration . I have not been able to find any other examples of a total configuration tree (ie /etc/puppet/*)

Transfer hangs, both sides waiting on receive
Hi, We're encountering a rather weird, sporadic hang during a large-file transfer. A bit of background on the setup: - Host A rsyncs a MySQL database from Host B. Both sides use rsync 3.1.1 on Debian Jessie. - Host B serves the files using rsync --daemon from an ext4 filesystem residing on a thin LVM snapshot. - Host A uses the following command to rsync the files to a btrfs

Transporting s-plus routines to R
I have used S-Plus for Windows for some time and have a large collection of personal programs. I have recently installed R-1.1.1 under Linux. I can read the .ssc files from S-Plus into emacs and save to R, but this is apt to be tedious. Any shortcuts to recommend? Will linux R read the _Data files from Windows S-Plus? Would Windows R serve as a useful intermediate transfer? -------------- next

New package: ibdreg
Dear useRs, Please find the new package ibdreg version 0.1.0 on CRAN. The package contains a method for analysis of genetic linkage with covariates by regression methods that use identity by descent (IBD) sharing probabilities for relative pairs. The methods account for correlations of IBD statistics for relative pairs within the same pedigree. The reference is: Schaid DJ, Sinnwell JP,

P-value from the joint cumulative distribution of an n-dimensional order statistic
Hello, I want to compute the P-value from the joint cumulative distribution of an n-dimensional order statistic in R, using the formula found on http://cmgm.stanford.edu/%7Ekimlab/multiplespecies/Supplement/methods_network.html My data consists of three different techniques (G2D, POCUS and RANDOM), and each has associated with it a number of rankings (integer between 0 and 1000), like for

What does `_data` mean in transform()?
Hi All, I meant to take the min row by row. But the result is apparently not what I want. Changing min to pmin solve the problem. > df=data.frame(X=1:10, Y=1:10) > transform(df, Z=min(X,10-Y)) X Y Z 1 1 1 0 2 2 2 0 3 3 3 0 4 4 4 0 5 5 5 0 6 6 6 0 7 7 7 0 8 8 8 0 9 9 9 0 10 10 10 0 I try to look at the source code to understand what transform() does. I know

Dovecot-2.1.14 - pop3 processes always hangs forever - another follow-up
Hello, With the same basic configs as in my previous messages, I tried with the maildir format instead of the mbox format. That is, in both cases ("virtual" uids/gids vs a single "real" uid/gid), doveconf -n shows: mail_location = maildir:~/maildir instead of: mail_location = mbox:~/mboxes:INBOX=~/mboxes/inbox Here too, with "virtual" uids/gids, connections thru

transform.data.frame() ignores unnamed arguments when no named argument is provided
Dear r-devel, See below: transform(data.frame(a = 1), 2, 3) #> a #> 1 1 transform(data.frame(a = 1), b=2, 3) #> a b X3 #> 1 1 2 3 We need a small modification to make it work consistently, see below: transform.data.frame <- function (`_data`, ...) { e <- eval(substitute(list(...)), `_data`, parent.frame()) tags <- names(e) ## NEW LINE

I can not tell from the docs or from the mailing list what is the state of timezone support in the iCalendar package? If I want to parse an iCalendar file that has non utc dstarts and dends will it convert those times to UTC or otherwise allow me to do that? When I tried to parse an iCalendar input file started off with something like this: BEGIN:VCALENDAR METHOD:REQUEST
