A bug in sweeper.rb? [was: A frustrating and strange error when config.action_controller.perform_caching = true]
I fired up the debugger and watched the code happen tonight. The problem occurs if the config.action_controller.perform_caching = true in your environment. It''s not set to true in development but it is set to true in production and staging. The problem occurs not in my controllers but in sweeping.rb (part of rails). Rails calls this code for every controller which was instantiated in

Select not maintaining state on nested form with
I am using nested forms with multiple instances of various of the forms. The problem I cant figure out is how to maintain state for the select between postbacks. I am using ''options_from_collection_for_select'' and in this the last param is to be the selected value, but given the dynamic nature, the value is going to depend on the iteration of the form builder. If I manually force

Looking for DB/Model Design Suggestions
Hi, I''m working on an app - my first Rails - and am looking for some suggestions on the best way (or good way) to set up my models / DB. In general there are teams and matches; a team will participate in multiple matches, and in each match there will be 6 teams - 3 vs. 3. I''m going to want to be able, for a particular team, pull up all matches for that team, to display a

Join table with attributes
Hi folks, I''m trying to migrate a less-than-ideal schema for a Rails app that helps role-playing gamers (the pencil-and-paper type) connect with each other, at http://findplay.anvilwerks.com (the source is available there too, for the curious). The schema currently uses columns for played_games, wanted_games, and favorite_games in the players table; each of these holds a foreign key to

There is already an object named 'schema_migrations' in the database
I''ve created a table in a SQL Server database using a migration, successfully. I''ve tried to change the name of a column in the table and got the error message above when running ''rake db:migrate''. Previously I have developed using MySQL and Sqlite and migrations have worked successfully. This is an error I have not seen before. Has anybody seen this and worked
