New software based on libvirt
Hello, I'm introducing to you the decentralized cloud Cherrypop. Combining libvirt and LizardFS (as of now) it becomes a cloud completely without masters. Thus, any node is sufficient for the cloud to be up and therefore no wasted resources and no single point of failure. It's still pretty crude software but will work with some tinkering. Hope you try it and like it! For more

In place editing on a list - not passing ID through
I want to do in-place edits on a list of data, but I''m having trouble getting the ID passed through to the controller. I use this in my view to create the field: <% for frame in @frames %> ... <%= in_place_editor_field :frame, :price %> <% end %> and this produces the following in my output: <span class="in_place_editor_field"

problems with msdfs
We did some tests with msdfs on HP/UX with samba version 2.2.1.a and we found a strange problem. We create a msdfs root on a HP/UX system with samba version 2.2.1.a and create a link in it to an HP/UX system with samba version 2.0.7. We mapped the link in the msdfs root on a NT4 system to drive F. The share contains the source of samba and in explorer we went to :

Problem with routes when I move the app to a different machine
Hi all: I have an application that runs great on my macbook pro, however, when I move the app to the production linux box, all routes fail except for the one I set up as the default: map.connect '':controller/:action/:id'', :controller => "Employee", :action => "status" I made sure the shebang line in dispatch.* was set to be OS independent

Wine auto update under Suse 10.3
The above has been working perfectly since I first installed Wine last year, successfully installing the updates which appear sometimes on a daily basis. It uses the main Suse 10.3 repositories, plus software.opensuse.org/download/Emulators:/Wine/openSUSE_10.3/ However in the last couple of weeks the updates have all failed, giving a "missing dependencies" message showing many

Machinist - having problems stubbing an after_create filter
Hi all I''m moving to using Machinist in my rspec tests and am having a problem with an after_create callback method that i need to stub out. It seems like calling ClassName.make will trigger this callback before i''ve had the chance to stub it. Can i stub it in my blueprint for that class? Or, can i stub the method for all instances of the class before i call ClassName.make?

Back returns "Warning: Page has Expired" ?!?!
Hey, I''ve found that certain browsers (IE and Ffx in particular) display a warning page whenever the user clicks on the ''back'' button after having just come from a page generated by a post. This makes perfect sense, it warns users about duplicate rows being entered etc. However! Is there anyway to gracefully redirect the user to a ''safe'' page say

Plugin-suggestion
Hi! I got an idea for a plugin to compiz. When you pull a window very fast (or, pull + any key) you will be able to throw the window to another workspace, without change to it. The effect could be a sliding window or something like that. I and some other on swedish IRC-channels thinks the plugin could be very useful. For example if a IM-window pops up and you don't have time to answer right

png2theora.c + QImage
Hello there, I have been working on an alternative version of the png2theora example: The basic idea is to change the input of the program, using a QImage [1] variable instead of a png array. This is my base file: http://www.maefloresta.com/tmp/example.cpp The point where I am stuck starts at this comment: // LOOK HERE (line 313) And here is the issue: QImage supports RGB images, so my first
