in_place_collection_editor
Hi, I''m trying to write a helper for Scriptaculous'' InPlaceCollectionEditor component. I''ve already submitted a patch (http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/4302). This was a drunk patch; it needs a bit of work (Don''t drink & code!). So far I''ve gotten it to work correctly with normal collections, but I want to use it for belongs_to relations as

Passing Ajax.InPlaceEditor options
I''ve followed the instructions in the Rails Recipe #1 and have the in_place_editor_field working but now I want to tweak how it looks and behaves. I''d like to be able to override the default yellow highlight color, which is done using the highlightcolor param according to the scriptaculous documentation (unless I''m missing something). I''m new to Ruby and Rails

script.aculos.us and the in_place_editor
Hi there, I''ve been trying incorporate the in_place_editor, but have had no luck so far. I read the Ajax.In Place editor wiki on script.aculos.us which was informing, but still left me wondering about a few things. Here''s what I''m trying to do. A user has a profile page which lists their name, age, homepage, etc... There is no form on this page... it''s just

in_place_editor_field submitOnBlur & okButton=false options?
I have a few in_place_editor_fields working fine. I can access some of the script.aculo.us options such as :cols, :save_text, :cancel_text, but how do I access the okButton = false & submitOnBlur options? Basically, I want no submit button, a cancel button, and the ability to submit when I tab out of the field. Is this doable without writing a helper? (avoiding digging that deep so

In place editing on a list - not passing ID through
I want to do in-place edits on a list of data, but I''m having trouble getting the ID passed through to the controller. I use this in my view to create the field: <% for frame in @frames %> ... <%= in_place_editor_field :frame, :price %> <% end %> and this produces the following in my output: <span class="in_place_editor_field"

webrick and in_place_editor_field
I''m having a strange problem with webrick spinning forever. I have a view ''list'' that renders a collection: <%= render :partial => ''item'', :collection => @items %> The item partial looks like so: <div id="item_<%= item.id %>"> ... <div id="price"> <%= in_place_editor_field :item, :price

Applying CSS style to in_place_editor_field?
I have a simple in_place_editor_field but the default style when clicking it isn''t quite acceptable for my needs. I tried using options that in_place_editor can take advantage of but I''m still getting a small field with a very close "Ok" button. I''m currently using: <% for note in status_notes.notes %> <li> <% @note =

InPlaceSelectEditor question
I''m attempting to use the example given in the Rails Recipes book chapter 2, to create a select drop-down using the InPlaceEditor function (modified to be InPlaceSelectEditor. The example given works (a country list drop-down), but I''m attempting to use it to display a list of items generated from an object in another table that is linked to the table that I''m editing.

Setting empty fields with in_place_editor_field
Hi all! Playing around with in_place_editor_field, I found that when you set a field to be empty, you can''t edit it at all anymore after that. Am I doing something wrong or is this the way it is intended to be? If so, is there any way around that behaviour? Is it just styling? Best regards, Raphael -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Controller part of in-place editing
I''m doing some incremental improvements on scaffolding, and want to add in-place editing to an admin section. I think I may have the view part working right (at least, the editor pops up as expected) with this in my view: ### <% for link in @links %> <tr> <td> <div id="<%= ''url'' + link.id.to_s -%>"><%= link.url

RJS - Still not working in IE
The previous thread on this topic got a little disjointed, so I thought I''d summarize the issue again, in hopes that someone could help. To re-iterate, this rjs works in Firefox and Safari on Mac, and in Firefox on Windows. It fails, in IE on Windows. The failure is that the second page.replace_html seems to do nothing. My environment is: Rails 1.0 + RJS Plugin Updated

undefined method `in_place_editor'
I''m trying to get Globalization to work using the globalize plugin. In their sample application they use in_place_editor to edit the translate strings. <%= in_place_editor "tr_#{tr.id}", :url => { :action => :set_translation_text, :id => tr.id }, :load_text_url => url_for({ :action => :translation_text, :id => tr.id })%> </p> I get the

in_place_editor is missing load_text_url option
Ajax.InPlaceEditor supports a loadTextURL option. If you look at the InPlaceEditor page (http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/Ajax.InPlaceEditor) you''ll see an excellent example in Rails of how you might use that option textilize in place edited stuff. Unfortunately, the example doesn''t use the nifty Rails in_place_editor method because

in_place_editor with local autocomplete
Hi Rails gals n guys I am trying to enhance the "Lightning-Fast JavaScript Autocompletion" rails recipe. For those that do not have the pdf-book the recipe explains how to use a javascript array for an auto-complete text field. I want to combine this with the in_place_editor call. My current (unworking) code: <!-- Load the array for autocomplete --> <script

in_place_editor consumes html tags?
I''ve got a bog-standard view which displays textilized data. In the same view, I have an in_place_editor which uses load_text_url to bring in non-textilized data when editing. Now, if I have html tags in the data loaded from load_text_url, they appear to go missing. I can see the tags in the output from my controller method using the console, but the tags are not shown in the

in_place_editor change request...
Hi, How do I make a request to the Rails team to include a line something like: js_options[''savingText''] = %(''#{options[:saving_text]}'') if options [:saving_text] in the in_place_editor method? script.aculo.us supports the ''savingText'' option to control the text displayed while saving after an in-line edit. Having the ability to
