win32-process + ruby-breakpoint = strange behavior
I''m getting really strange behavior with win32/process. Here''s the code: ----- require ''win32/process'' require_gem ''ruby-breakpoint'' x = Process.create :app_name => "ruby bin/run_device.rb devices/terminal_server.rb" puts "done" puts "done" Process.kill 9, x puts "done" ------

gam (mgcv) vs. multiple regression breakpoint analysis: inconsistencies?
Dear useRs, I have a question with respect to fitting a non-linearity using gam (mgcv package, version 1.7-16). In a study I'm currently conducting, I'd like to find out if there is a breakpoint after which the effect of Age of Acquisition (AOA) of the second language changes. I.e. if the slope of AOA before the breakpoint (at a certain AOA) is different from the slope past the

About the breakpoint when making heatmap with lots of variables
HI,All I am trying to create a heatmap with 24 samples with 15672 varibles, I read in the table in R, and then made it as a matrix, then try to create the heatmap using heatmap(x,...) However, I received the error message as: > heatmap(t(x)) Error: cannot allocate vector of size 936.8 Mb R(2925,0xa0b16500) malloc: *** mmap(size=982261760) failed (error code=12) *** error: can't allocate

FW: [Mongrel] Broken win32 service support for lastest mongrels.
Hi all, I''ve forwarded this from the Mongrel mailing list to see if anyone has any thoughts. In summary, Luis is hitting broken pipe errors on occasion when he tries to stop a service. In a later email Luis mentions that simply ignoring them might not always be the best idea, since sometimes the service seems to no longer respond, even though it still appears to be running fine. MissingSourceFile (no such file to load -- breakpoint):
Anyone seen this before? I did a gem update recently and may have broken something. But I''d still like to decipher what the message below actuallt means: MissingSourceFile (no such file to load -- breakpoint): /usr/lib64/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:21:in `require__'' /usr/lib64/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:21:in `require''

NoMethodError when using Breakpoint
When I put something like: breakpoint["here is the place"] in my code (say, in the controller), the breakpointer will run correctly. But after I exit out of the breakpointer, the browser gets a "NoMethodError" saying: You have a nil object when you didn''t expect it! You might have expected an instance of Array. The error occured while evaluating nil.[] This happens

Re: gdbsx bug : fail on a breakpoint
Hmm... I don't know whats the real cause. Is it during boot of the HVM guest, or is the guest completely up and you are trying to set breakpoing? For immediate use, can you just rebuilt the kernel with module built in? I don't have a setup right now to debug/fix it, and am very busy with PVH and preparing for xen summit, so need some time to debug and fix it. thanks, mukesh PS: please

Action fails silently - breakpoint doesn''t hit
I have a simple user registration controller with scaffold code. The only change I made to the view is to add a second password field for confirmation. I do have a db table called users with all the fields except ofcourse the extra password field. The field has a different name so it does not get into the user hash. The ''user.new'' action works fine and displays the form. The

Capistrano deployment issues under Ubuntu Dapper
I''ve recently upgraded my box from Ubuntu Breezy to Dapper, and for the life of me can''t figure out why I''m getting this exception thrown. I''ve switched from Switchtower to Capistrano, and when I run rake deploy I get this output: ** [update_code] exception while rolling back: NameError, uninitialized constant Net::SSH::Transport::OSSL

testing an ARFIMA model for structural breaks with unknown breakpoint
Dear R users, I'm trying to use the "strucchange" package to determine structural breaks in an ARFIMA model. Unfortunately I'm not so familiar with this topic (and worse, I'm a beginner in R), so I don't know exactly how to specify my model so that the "Fstats","sctest" and "breakpoint" functions to recognize it and to calculate the

Paypal IPN - unable to access breakpoint during POST?
Hi all, I''m trying to debug some code in my paypal instant payment notification action. Why can I not access the breakpoint placed inside the action that paypal POSTs to? It just doesn''t find the server, but it works fine when placed inside other actions. I''ve appended the code to the end of this post. Thanks everyone! Tom -- def paypal_ipn notify =

"stuck" in kmdb due to dtrace breakpoint()
So I realize this is somewhat stupid, and I''ve actually gotten myself out of kmdb to kill my dtrace script but this has happened in the past and I''m wondering if there''s any better way around it than hitting :c a bunch of times. Say you set a breakpoint() to fire in a common function. This will drop you into kmdb where you can do some debugging, you take a look around

Breakpoint support
Hello, Since release 0.9.x, I haven''t been able to get breakpoint support fully working. I am able to execute a breakpoint, but I don''t seem to have access to local variables when inside. Are others able to access these variables? -Chris

breakpoint on log error?
Is there a way to configure Rails so that it will breakpoint on a logger.error? Ideally, you''d enter the breakpoint where the error was generated. I suppose if it''s not there, with open classes, anything is possible. :-) -- -- Tom Mornini

Strucchange: Breakpoint slow
Hi to all, I am trying to run breakpoints() on a fairly large sample (>10.000 observations). The process is very slow, any idea on how to speed this up? I have tried the hpc="foreach" parameter, but this didn't work at all when I tried to run it on a smaller sample. breakpoints(x ~ x.l1 + x.l2 + X.l3 + x.l4 + x.l5 + x.l6 + x.l7 + x.l8 + y.l1 + y.l2 + y.l3 + y.l4 + y.l5 + y.l6

wxruby2.so: [BUG] Segmentation fault on require 'wx'
Hi -- I am trying to get ruby 1.9 to run on my Windows Vista Ultimate computer with and Intel 32 bit processor and all OS updates applied. I installed ruby 1.9 on October 23, 2009 using the zip file (ruby-1.9.1-p129-i386-mswin32.zip) and the instructions located at: http://blog.orangecabin.com/2009/05/install-ruby-1-9-on-windows-using-zip-binary/. Requiring /lib files in a cross-platform way.
Hi. When you have library foo.rb in your Rails project /lib directory, I notice that on some platforms - e.g. Windows with WEBrick as a server - you can require it by simply: require ''lib/foo'' However on other platforms - e.g. Debian with Lighttpd server via FastCGI - this does not work, and you need to specify RAILS_ROOT explicitly, like this: require
