dispatch.fcgi hanging after lighttpd shutdown
Hi. I''m using RoR 1.0 with FastCGI and lighttpd on a Debian 3.1 box. I have configured lighttpd to do adaptive spawning of the FastCGI processes. However, after shutting down lighttpd the FastCGI processes remain running. Did this problem occur to anyone of you? Is there a fix? I''d be really grateful for every answer. Regards, Manuel Holtgrewe

Rails URLs always try to open non-existent files
The lighttpd config file is set up like this... Rails url: //host/controller/method/id Lighttpd tries to open the file ''controller/method/id'' from the document root. Of course this doesn''t work and generates an error 404 This gets caught with: server.error-handler-404 = "/dispatch.fcgi" Which turns the request into "/dispatch.fcgi" That gets caught

apache2 fastcgi (fcgi) internal server errors, still :(
hi all, I can blab, but here is a sample of my /var/log/apache2/error.log, it has all the info: any ideas what I can do prevent 500s from hitting my users? (besides redirecting them with javascript to the same URL which will be fine on the next request? :) thanks, _alex [Fri Jun 24 12:30:45 2005] [error] [client 172.20.0.175] FastCGI: incomplete headers (0 bytes) received from

Lighttpd Configuration Problems
Hey Folks! I''ve got a Fedora Core 4 machine that I''m installing Ruby on Rails on, following this set of instructions: http://www.digitalmediaminute.com/howto/fc4rails/ Everything has gone well up until I get to the part about configuring lighttpd to use virtual hosts. Here''s the chunk of code I''ve got in my config file that appears to be the culprit.

Some Rails-Lighttpd questions
I followed the instructions from the ~/RailsOnDebian tutorial to set up Rails on a FreeBSD. (That tutorial is down, can it be hosted somewhere else?). Now I have some questions regarding the configuration of Lighttpd for Rails. If there are FAQs in my questions don''t hesitate to point me to the right resource... Probably a trivial one: where do I access a Rails site when it is

FCGI hanging w/ LightTPD in about 24-48 hours
I started an earlier thread about this ... Someone suggested a different version of LightTPD, since the version I was using had some known issues with FCGI. Well, we''ve upgraded to LightTPD 1.4.11 and the problem is still happening. We have Rails running under fcgi (one process) under LightTPD. This, in turn, is proxied to by Apache. This is on a test IP, so only a few people should

compiling php with fcgi on tiger
I can''t figure out how to compile php with fcg enabled. I found a website which gives an example of how to write options in configure http://scoops.totallyrule.com/articles/2006/02/01/mysql5-ab-package-and-php5 So I wrote ./configure --prefix=/usr/local --program-suffix=5 --enable-fastcgi --enable-discard-path --enable-force-cgi-redirect --with-mysqli=/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_config
