{nlme} Question about modeling Level two heteroscedasticity in HLM
Hello dear uesRs, I am working on modeling both level one and level two heteroscedasticity in HLM. In my model, both error variance and variance of random intercept / random slope are affected by some level two variables. I found that nlme is able to model heteroscedasticity. I learned how to use it for level one heteroscedasticity but don't know how to use it to model the level

{nlme} Question about modeling Level two heteroscedasticity in HLM
If you don't get a response it is because you did not read the Posting Guide which indicates that the R-sig-ME mailing list is where this question would have been on-topic. -- Sent from my phone. A better place for this post would be on R's mixed models list: r-sig-mixed-models . My company is seeking senior software engineers to work on a small team to design and develop a brand new web-2.0 type of service. This is an internal startup that''s part of an established, successful Boston-area software company. It''s also very early in the lifecycle, so the engineers will have significant influence over how the service evolves. The engineers will help evaluate

I have distilled my bootstrap problem down to this bit of code, which calculates an estimate of the 95th percentile of 7500 random numbers drawn from a standard normal distribution: library(boot) per95 <- function( annual.data, b.index) { sample.data <- annual.data[b.index] return(quantile(sample.data,probs=c(0.95))) } m <- 10000 x <- rnorm(7500,0,1) B <-

WISP-survey part of created area?
Dear R-Team! I am a beginner in R and use the WISP library for a project. I am using mark-recapture to estimate abundance. I would like to know if it is possible to only survey a part of the created area (with the created population) and not all of it. I am trying to quantify bias introduced by non random sampling design (i.e. the area is 24x100 but I only wanna search 24x40) Thank you already in

*-sock created as part of normal daemon startup?
As noted in another thread, I've not had success with homebrew/Mac OSX's libvirt install. On Ubuntu and CentOS virtual machines, installing "libvirt-daemon" and friends, I end up with various "-sock" files in /var/run/libvirt. This seems sensible. After installing on MacOS X with homebrew ls /usr/local/var/run/libvirt hostdevmgr lockd qemu storage so perhaps it

NoScript allow scripts globally reversible?
I'm running NoScript because otherwise Firefox freezes up a lot. Recently I've had difficulty accessing a site. I suspect the reason is that it uses redirection in a way that frustrates my efforts to give it permission. To test the notion, I'm considering temporarily allowing script globally. How hard is it to reverse? Will I need to redo previous permissions one at a time? --

Looking for a r0x0rz developer - music startup
Since this company is pre-funded I don''t feel a paid job board is the right venue to ask this question. Essentially what we need is a few backend pros using the language/framework of their choice. I only personally have experience with php/mysql but I went through a RoR tutorial to build something very simple. So I understand RoR to an extent and I think it''s a good thing to

PROGRAMMERS FOR STARTUP We are a startup company in Louisville, KY, looking for two programmers. Realizing that Ruby is a relatively new language, experience on a major Ruby project is not necessary. We are more concerned with intelligence, work ethic, and general programming knowledge (although obviously we expect you to know some Ruby). Some C experience will probably help too. Initial work

Job Posting - Early stage political startup looking for advanced rubyist and/or designer
This is a shot out in the dark, but I figured it''s worth a try...especially in this job market. :) My friend and I are in the very early planning stages of a startup that will be politically focused. We intend to develop tools that will revolutionize and dominate the next generation of the politics. I am a developer with nearly 5 years of experience with Ruby & Rails and 8 years of
