Changing scaffold''s text_field to a password_field causes white screen of death in mozilla?
I had posted earlier about ''silent failure of a controller'', what seemed to be an intractable problem where I was getting failure of a particular action in a controller while others worked. What was irritating was that there were no useful messages. Nothing to the browser, nothing in logs, and even the breakpoints wouldn''t hit. Finally by a process of elemination I found

White Screen of Death
Hello, I''ve heard these words to describe a RoR application returning an empty page. This happen from time to time even here, in the forum. That is the cause of this misbehaviour ? Is it related with something external to RoR itself ? What is the solution to avoid the WSOD ? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

wine iexplore white screen of death
On a fresh Ubuntu, sudo apt-get install wine wine iexplore yields a white screen of death with a title bar for Wine. I tried winecfg and tweaking settings, and I can get a desktop with IE WSOD again, so no real progress. The shell outputs a ton of errors/debug info, pasted below... What have I done wrong? wine iexplore fixme:ole:CoResumeClassObjects stub fixme:shdocvw:go_home stub

White Cube of Death - fglrx_7_1_0_SUSE103-8.452.1-1
Listmates (only posting to one list) Compiz has been running great with the 8.433 driver except for the libGL SONAME lockup on exit. see: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=344135 I just built and installed the 8.452 driver. Compiz would not start with the normal fusion-icon approach that I have been using with the 8.433 driver. This is on my Toshiba P35 laptop with an ATI

Getting the through items from a has_many :through :uniq relationship
Getting the through items from a has_many :through :uniq relationship In a nutshell, I have been using the has_many :through :uniq relationship, and I want a DRY way to list the join model objects. Currently, my objects include taxon objects, toxin objects, data_object objects, and taxon_toxin_citation objects ("citation" is another word for data_object). A taxon has many data objects,

master detail problem
Hello all, Has anyone done one of these? I''ve done similar things in java and php, by having easy access to SQL statements. I am new to Ruby/Rails( I''ve been at it for 10 days ) and thus far find it extremely confusing. I''ve got a bit more of a handle on it from the Agile book that someone loaned me, but I still find it hard to understand. Anyway, I''ve got

[LLVMdev] Using gcroot with value types

I'm pretty sure it should be "alloca of a pointer", as the first argument of llvm.gcroot has type i8**.

Deopt operand bundle behavior
Hi! We have started to use deopt operand bundle to make our native stacktrace deoptimizable and garbage collectable. We stumbled upon an issue and we don't know if it is really an issue on our side or really a problem within LLVM. For example, for this input: declare { i8*, i8* } @getCode() define void @testFunc() { entry: %0 = call { i8*, i8* } @getCode() %1 = extractvalue { i8*, i8* }

RESTful web service design question
I''m working on a Rails app that needs to expose a RESTful web service. I''m curious to know some of the best practices as it relates to RESTful API design. Let''s say I have a set of related objects on the server side. I''ll use the venerable subscribers, subscriptions and magazines example to lay it out. class Subscriber < AR has_many :subscriptions

ZFS gzip Death Spiral Revisited
I have the following configuation. My storage: 12 luns from a Clariion 3x80. Each LUN is a whole 6 disk raid-6. My host: Sun t5240 with 32 hardware threads and 16gig of ram. My zpool: all 12 luns from the clariion in a simple pool My test data: A 1 gig backup file of a ufsdump from /opt on a machine with lots of mixed binary/text data. A 15gig file that is already tightly compressed. I wrote

r SIG birth, life and death
I would like to correspond or talk on the phone with anyone who has founded a SIG or participated in numerous SIGs and has thoughts or lessons learned about what makes them thrive, stagnate or die. Also, if anyone has written anything useful on this topic (SIG health, SIG growth, SIG moderation (in the social rather than the technical sense), and the like) I would greatly appreciate a pointer to

FreeBSD 9.2-RC1 i386 frozen to death
Hey :-) I have just installed FreeBSD 9.2-RC1 on Dell Latitude D620 i386 laptop. After first run and installation of some packets with pkg(ng) then some xorg configuration when I was in console it hung badly with totally no response. Wow and death on ATI
Hi ! I have recently bought an ATI card. I have managed to get wow working with catalyst 8.5. It works quite good except the white minimap when inddor. But when I die all graphics become corrupted and I can't use the game anymore. Strangely to bring my character to life I can launch the game in d3d mode to, slowly, head towards my body. I have ffxdeath 0 and ffxglow 0 in my Config.wtf.
