Prototype question invalid error in IE6
Hi, I''m new to using Prototype and script.aculo.us. I''m trying to use prototype to adjust an elements top margin based on the height of the screen. I''m also using script.aculo.us to make the element move negatively off the left of the window to create a scrolling effect. It works fine in Firefox, but I keep getting an Invalid argument error in IE6. Here my margin code

Protoype problem
Hey everybody, I encountered an interesting problem today. Here is what I have: I used the prototype function "Position.clone(src, target)" which actually copies the top, left, offsetWidth and offsetHeight from the src to the target. interestingly, my src-object had a css-styled border of 1px, and a total offsetWidth of 320px. my target-object had the same properties, but once I

trellis margin sizes in absolute units
Dear R users, I have a lot of experience with traditional R graphics, but I decided to turn to trellis as it was recommended for spatial graphs by the sp package. In traditional R graphics I always first set the size of the device region absolute units (e.g. mm) and then I firmly fix the inner margins with mai and the outer margins with oma also in absolute units. What is left from the device

Changing graphics height when using grid and lattice
Hi, I have recently been playing with the grid package in an attempt to create some pages containing multiple lattice plots on the same page. However, when I specify a grid layout with different widths, such as: pushViewport(viewport(layout = grid.layout(1, 2, unit(c(2, 1), "null")))) the individual graphs do not end up as the same height - which is a feature I would prefer to have.

Does an entry in AstDB stay after reboot?
I set up a call forwarding script in extensions.conf which uses the AstDB but I'm wondering if I reboot the server, will the entry in AstDB still reside? What the script does is when a call comes in, it check to see if there is a null value or a call forward number. If null, it will call the local office connections. If there is a number, it calls that. Now I just need to know if I reboot

lattice's mai/mar analog
hello, is there a way to control figure margins using package lattice, similarly to parameters mai/mar (which presumbly works only for figures of package graphics)? thanks!‎ [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Ruby on Rails Searchable and Annotatable Docs
I recently updated my Rannotate application. The interface has been completely redone and there are lots of new features. The basic idea is to create searchable and user annotatable documentation for the Ruby on Rails API (think php.net). Check it out at - http://rails.outertrack.com * What is Rannotate? Rannotate is a Rails application and RDoc YAML generator that work together to provide

Is there a neat R trick for this?
Hello all, given two vectors X and Y I'd like to receive a vector Z which contains, for each element of X, the index of the corresponding element in Y (or NA if that element isn't in Y). Example: x <- c(4,5,6) y <- c(10,1,5,12,4,13,14) z <- findIndexIn(x, y) z [1] 5 3 NA 1st element of z is 5, because the 1st element of x is at the 5th position in y 2nd element of z is 3,

scriptaculous accordion feature - Jump?
Trying the accordion feature as offered at: http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/accordion+feature The objective is to remove the "jump" reported in the Rico accordion feature. My demo of the scriptaculous feature, however has a noticeable jump when tested if FireFox. and IE Win. See: http://www.jimdavis.org/accord3.html Have I implemented this incorrectly? Jim

unset() function?
Does R have a function like the S/S++ unset() function? unset(name) would remove 'name' from the current evaluation frame and return its value. It allowed you to safely avoid some memory copying when calling .C or .Call. E.g., suppose you had C code like #include <R.h> #include <Rinternals.h> SEXP add1(SEXP pX) { int nProtected = 0; int n = Rf_length(pX);

device alias
Hi. I''d like to request a feature be added to zfs. Currently, on SAN attached disk, zpool shows up with a big WWN for the disk. If ZFS (or the zpool command, in particular) had a text field for arbitrary information, it would be possible to add something that would indicate what LUN on what array the disk in question might be. This would make troubleshooting and general

Profiling C functions called from R.
Hi, I am working on an R package which includes some C routines. I would like to profile the C routines (built with GCC under Debian Linux). I tried running R with LD_PROFILE=/path/to/C/library.so R and executing functions that would invoke the code therein. The code takes about twice as long to run with LD_PROFILE set than without, so I am guessing that profiling is taking place. However,

802.11 phone review: WiSIP
Hello - Here's my first impression review of the first SIP 802.11 phone. I got my hands on the "first" one sold, so that perhaps makes me the first person to have a real 802.11 SIP phone commercially in the US interworking with Asterisk. Whee! Can someone point me to other commercially shipping phones to prove me wrong?

anyone has C++ STL classes stability issue if used with R
Hello, is there any one who uses C++ STL classes when programming shared libs for R and has had any problems with STL? In the very simple example below I am constantly getting segfaults when trying to populate the queue. The segfault occurs at what looks like a random index in the loop when pushing another element to the queue. Reproduced on 4 machines. Object x is an Image as in EBImage,
