Windows 2000 DomU
Hello, I am doing tests to convert old rotting servers into a big shiny new Xen platform. I have been able to migrate a Windows 2003 server without a scratch. I am trying to do the same thing with Windows 2000 Server but things aren''t so great... I made an image from the disk that worked in a machine. Then I boot on this image using Xen. Windows 2000 starts to boot up then give me a

Here is part of my .cfg file: kernel = ''/usr/lib/xen-3.2-1/boot/hvmloader'' device_model = ''/usr/lib64/xen-3.2-1/bin/qemu-dm'' builder = ''hvm'' It is running fine with vnc, but when I ssh to openbsd, and I type cat, vi, etc. it freezes. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -- Sergio Roberto Charpinel

Debian Repository
Hi, Im trying to install Netware and Windows 2008 server but im having problems with it reading the ISO. Im guessing this is because im running version 3.2.1 debian packages so i want to upgrade to unstable and use the 3.4 deb packages. My problem is that there isn''t a kernel package so when booting you cant boot into xenified kernel mode. If i try and use a kernel from the

Howto make a 2.6.26 kernel for my domUs
Hello, I wants to make a self compiled kernel for my domUs on a debian etch server with Xen 3.1.4 and 2.6.18.8 dom0 kernel. So, I download sources for linux-2.6.26.8, and I enabled all the Xen features : Symbol: HVC_XEN [=y] Symbol: XEN_BALLOON [=y] Symbol: XEN_FBDEV_FRONTEND [=y] Symbol: XEN_SCRUB_PAGES [=y] Symbol: XEN_KBDDEV_FRONTEND [=y] Symbol: XEN_BLKDEV_FRONTEND [=y] Symbol:

Pure virtual user and RT3.x
Hi, I have mailsystem with virtual users only (/home/vmail/domain/user). I need to integrate RT3.x (a ticketing system). I have installed the client but I need to send mail to a pipe. Rt wants me to insert: |/usr/bin/rt-mailgate --queue bla --action bla --url http://bla.bal/ In /etc/postfix/aliases. That does not work for me. What is the right way to achieve that mail to rt at mydomain is

Dovecot deliver
Hi all, I have a problem with my dovecot/postfix configuration: here is my dovecot -n # 1.2.16: /etc/dovecot.conf Warning: fd limit 128 is lower than what Dovecot can use under full load (more than 768). Re: Benchmarking GPL PV Drivers for Windows between0.9.11-pre13 and 0.10.0.69
Pasi, Thanks for putting that wiki page together for the dom0 kernels - it's something that has long been needed for pulling together information on those kernels. I know it's always a chore for me to find info on how to get/build a dom0 kernel if I don't like the one that's included with a distribution. Thanks! -Nick >>> On 2009/07/07 at 00:50, Pasi

v2.0 configuration paths
In Dovecot v2.0 I'm splitting dovecot-example.conf to multiple files. It's probably annoying to have tons of dovecot-*-example.conf files, so what do you think about: 1. Change default sysconfdir from $prefix/etc to $prefix/etc/dovecot (that's what most distros do anyway) 2. Install *.conf files to $sysconfdir/example/ without the "-example" part in any of the config files.

Recommended Groupware?
Hi, is there a recommended groupware (email + calendar + address book + syncing with mobile devices) on top of an existing dovecot installation? Most existing commercially supported groupwares come with their own mail storage engine. I would like to keep dovecot as the email storage engine because of the maildir format which greatly helps with backup & restore. Regards -- Robert Sander

[PATCH 00/28] ia64/xen domU paravirtualization
Hi linux/ia64 developers. Few days before Eddie posted the mail for Linux/IA64 paravirtualization. But only a few responded partially because there was no reviewable patches. Here is the patches for xen/ia64 Linux paravirtualization. The goal is to merge IA64 xen Linux paravirtualization for both domU and dom0 eventually. However the first step is to merge domU portion. As you can see from the

What is the state of blktap2?
I''m currently working on moving storage services into their own domain and I''ve been looking at blktap2. I''ve been trying to get an image mounted with blktap2 and for some odd reason and tapdisk2 keeps hanging instead of quitting at the end. I haven''t removed any of the storage startup code at this point so everything should be as it normally is in xen-unstable.

[PATCH 00/15] ia64/pv_ops take 5
Hi. This patchset implements ia64/pv_ops support which is the framework for virtualization support. Now all the comments so far have been addressed, but only a few exceptions. On x86 various ways to support virtualization were proposed, and eventually pv_ops won. So on ia64 the pv_ops strategy is appropriate too. Later I'll post the patchset which implements xen domU based on ia64/pv_ops.
