paypal vs vpaypal
Has anyone used the vpaypal gem yet (http://rubyforge.org/frs/?group_id=1372&release_id=4452) and if so, how does it compare to the paypal plugin from ELC (http://elctech.com/products_ruby_paypal.shtml)? ELC''s is at 1.4 now while vpaypal is at 0.0.1 and hasn''t had much activity at rubyforge. I''m hoping for some success stories from people on one or both of

Issues using PayPal''s Website Payments Pro in Rails
I know there has been some talk on this list about PayPal''s Website Payments Pro in Rails in the past. I myself am in the middle of preparing my own WPP store in Rails (I''ve done them before in PHP) and am hitting the same walls others have reported. I''ve summarized my notes in this blog post: http://clickablebliss.com/blog/2006/07/21/issues_using_paypals_website_payme

How to deal with PayPal frauds?
I charge my customers through PayPal, but recently faced a fraud which previously had only heard about. Somebody registered a few accounts, paid online with paypal (as my service is only prepaid) and started making expensive long distance calls. In fact the IP registering the accounts was from Florida, and IPs making calls were from Africa. After about 20 minutes the first payment was reversed.

paypal ipn from leetsoft
Has anyone had any luck with the paypal gem from leetsoft (Tobias Luetke)? I''m successfully sending off and making payments, but the ipn doesn''t send back to my site. I have the notify_url set in the form, have a action set for the ipn postbacks, but all I get from my sandbox after payment is a "view shops" page from paypal after payment is made. -- Posted via

Paypal and Rails
Hello everyone, I am looking for a way to pass off a simple payment to paypal using our own interface. I understand that this requires making full use of Paypal''s API since we won''t be using their shopping cart or anything. I found the article by Pranav Bihari on his site and in the Wiki on using SOAP4R and the paypal WSDL file to interface with paypal web services, but I

When you sometimes wonder how to test this??
Hi Just something that I have been finding very helpful sometimes when I am stuck with "how could I test this?" moments is looking at the Rails test suite. At the moment I am working on testing our custom error_messages_for methods and I have found looking at how the Rails tests in active_record_helper work helpful :-) So just thought I''d share that. ActiveMerchant and PayPal FLow pro
Hello guys, As far as I''ve seen, there is still no "official" SDK (from paypal) for ruby to access Paypal FLow pro accounts. I''ve registered for PayPal Flow pro, and got the following items: partner id,merchant ID and password. I''ve tried to use Active Merchant, but when I try to create a PayflowGateway Object, it seems to expect a login name and a password,

Mocking Workers in Backgroundrb
Hi Has anyone mocked a call like the following for backgroundrb? MiddleMan.new_worker(:class => :admin_email_worker, :args => params [:email]) I cannot seem to find the correct manner to do it.
