network checksum offloading broken using virtio
Hi, with recent guest installs (both centos 5 and 7) on centos 7 hosts I seem to have to disable checksum offloading using "ethtool -K eth0 tx off" in order to allow traffic to flow a specific route. Basically the guest is installed with IP 192.168.21.10 and a default gateway of 192.168.21.254. Up until that point I can ssh into the system normally. There exists an OpenVPN System with

[PATCH V2 net-next 1/6] virtio: Add support for SCTP checksum offloading
To support SCTP checksum offloading, we need to add a new feature to virtio_net, so we can negotiate support between the hypervisor and the guest. The HOST feature bit signifies offloading support for transmit and enables device offload features. The GUEST feature bit signifies offloading support of recieve and is currently only used by the driver in case of xdp. That patch also adds an

[PATCH net-next 1/5] virtio: Add support for SCTP checksum offloading
To support SCTP checksum offloading, we need to add a new feature to virtio_net, so we can negotiate support between the hypervisor and the guest. The signalling to the guest that an alternate checksum needs to be used is done via a new flag in the virtio_net_hdr. If the flag is set, the host will know to perform an alternate checksum calculation, which right now is only CRC32c. Signed-off-by:

Disabling checksum offloading at install OSOL 2009.06 PV DomU on Xen 3.4.1 Ubuntu 9.04 Dom0 ( with 2.6.30.1 xenified aka Suse kernel)
Following bellow procedure involves Solaris Kernel module debugger to patch OSOL’s (SNV_111b) kernel at booting up to succeed with dhcp lease and to be able proceed with initial install. File /etc/system gets updated via root terminal session before standard reboot to make the patch for kernel permanent

6.5 vpn/gre/ospf breakage
Hi List, FYI. We have been using CentOS 6.4 and have 2 vpn/gre tunnels to separate cisco rtrs using ospf. with kernel 2.6.32-358.23.2 We have upgraded to 6.5 bit using kernel 2.6.32-431.5.1 and the exact same configuration scripts for our vpn/gre tunnels. What I see is the first gre tunnel works great and I get an ospf neighbor. The second tunnel comes up and I can ping across it and I see

gre/ipsec loadbalancing
Hi, I have the following setup. Two linux systems with two [test] external interfaces encrypted with ipsec [transport]. Two gre tunnels that pass 10.200.0.0/24 and 10.200.1.0/24 network traffic. Testing the balanced tunnels I would setup iptraf on one and ping from the other. The results would be as expected; traffic would be split between the two interfaces. Testing with an ftp transfer of

Multicast packages dropped
Hi, I have recently updated one of my systems from CentOs 6.4 to CentOS 6.5. This systems is used as a RIPv2 routing server with quagga which is the termination point of some GRE tunnels. While running CentOS 6.4 I see the multicast packages arriving at the eth0 and the GRE tunnel interface. While running under CentOs 6.5 I can see the multicast packages arriving at the eth0 but not on the GRE

Software Offloading Performance Issue on increasing VM's (TSO enabled ) pushing traffic
Hi, Problem- Offloading (in Software) for VM generated packets ( TSO enabled in VM's ) degrades severely with increase in VM's on a host. On increasing VM's ( which are pushing traffic simultaneously ) on a compute node- - % offloaded packets coming out of VM's ( TSO enabled ) on tap port / veth-pair decreases significantly - Size of offloaded packets coming out of VM's (TSO
