RESOLVED: Debian Xen + Broadcom NetXtreme II (IBM x3655 7985-AC1)
I have a new x3655 IBM and whenever the /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge script starts, the ethernet would no longer work. This post isn''t about the cause, but the fix. I did a lot of tcpdumps and Googling, but I''ll spare you that. All they do is prove that yes, there is an issue. :) I tried Debian 4.0 i386/amd64 and Ubuntu 7.04 Server i386/amd64 and they all exhibit the

Xen and iSCSI - options and questions
Hello, I have a small Xen farm of 8 dom0 servers with 64 virtual machines running para-virtualized and this has been working great. Unfortunately, I''ve hit a limit: my iSCSI hardware supports only 512 concurrent connections and so I''m pretty much at the limit. (Wish I would have seen that problem sooner!) Of course, 87% of those connections are idle-- but necessary because I

[LLVMdev] Partially complete LLVM backend for the VideoCore 4
Hello, For a while I've been working on an LLVM backend for Broadcom's VideoCore 4, the GPU made famous by the Raspberry Pi. This isn't the QPU, for which Broadcom released docs a little while ago; it's the main processor, which is a VC4 core. It's a rather elegant thing with two cores, 32 registers, a built-in DSP and an extremely nice instruction set; reverse engineered

bnx2 losing connectivity
Hoping someone else has seen this before. I have a few dozen Dell R610 systems with CentOS 5.2 that are using kernels from 5.3 and 5.4 (2.6.18-128.1.10.el5 & 2.6.18-164.6.1.el5), that at random lose layer 2 network connectivity either partially or totally. Running tcpdump on the interface reveals only ARP broadcasts, no responses. Switch reports no packets being received on the interface.

Dutch VOIP-PSTN provider
Hi, I read a lot about US providers that can terminate a PSTN number for you and offer IAX or SIP connectivity. Does anyone know such a company in The Netherlands ? I read about Unet. Anyone with experience with them ? Any information is welcome. -- Michiel van Baak http://lunteren.vanbaak.info michiel@vanbaak.info GnuPG key: http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x7E0B9A2D

Skype 4 Linux
Hi All, Since 21 june skype is available to be used on Linux, with a static binary, which includes QT, of 8 meg its big. http://www.skype.com/help_linux_faq.html I presume, with some hacking, there could be a possibility to use the Skype program as a Channel. Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 bnx2 bridging problem
Hi, I''ve run into the same issue as: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-07/msg00599.html In that, running the network bridge script kills networking completely, trying to ping the gateway gives me destination host unreachable. Bug in loadNamespace?
Looks like this could be locale related. Both of you are using non-US locales, and Sys.setlocale is not changing the last entry (LC_MESSAGES), which is as documented, but maybe somehow related. Xen Kernel (3.0.2) breaks b44 module
I have a new laptop (Dell 9400) that I am trying to work with Xen 3.0. Xen works fine, runs windows XP under HVM. But, the Xen kernel on Dom0 has a few problems with some of the hardware. The network card is a Broadcom 4400 10/100BaseT. Normally loading the b44 module gives this: Apr 28 20:07:53 ipanema kernel: [4294683.185000] b44.c:v0.97 (Nov 30, 2005) Apr 28 20:07:53 ipanema kernel:

What goes to Hardware ?
Hi people, As I said before: I did the IDCT to run on the FPGA. My friends from university did the Reconstruction routines running on the FPGA. I'm helping with the LoopFilter, and it is almost there. (all VHDL) I did a small profiling of the libTheora running on a Altera Stratix II device: The processor used was the NIOS II with 8Kb of data and instruction cache, branch prediction and
