trying to follow the ha-drbd HOWTO on the centos wiki...
I prep two identical systems with centos 5, leaving some disk space
unassigned (they only have one scsi drive), create /dev/sda4 partitions
on each to use for the repdata...
I install the modules, create a /etc/drbd.conf like...

KVM raw on DRDB on LVM logical volume?
Hi,
I'm trying to get KVM VMs set up right on top of DRBD, with a dedicated DRBD
mirror instance on top of a dedicated pair of LVM LVs per VM - allowing, for
instance, primary-secondary DRBD assignments at the same granularity as the
VMs. In other words, I want to put VMs in raw format directly to the DRBD
block device, just as they are commonly put to an LV block device, with the

unable to unmount drdb+ocfs2 with bind-mount active
Hi all,
i?m not sure if my problem is realted to ocfs2 or to drbd, so i x-post
this post to both lists.
I?ve drbd-volume [v 8.3.9] (dual-primary) with ocfs2 [v 1.6.3] as a
filesystem.
If I add a "bind-mount" like
/var/log/ispconfig/httpd/blog.schaal-24.de
/srv/www/clients/client2/web323/log none bind,nobootwait 0 0
to /etc/fstab i`m unable to run umount /srv/www (which is

drdb fails under xen
Under xen, either stock xen-2.0.1+linux-2.6.9 or Fedora''s latest
(2.6.10-1.1109_FC4), drdb (<http://www.drbd.org/>),as soon as I try to
write to one of its devices, causes "Badness" in the kernel and,
ultimately, a spontaneous reboot.
Under non-xen 2.6.10-1.1109_FC4 and 2.6.9-1.678_FC3, drbd works fine.
The error:

Recover botched drdb gfs2 setup .
Hi.
The short story... Rush job, never done clustered file systems before,
vlan didn't support multicast. Thus I ended up with drbd working ok
between the two servers but cman / gfs2 not working, resulting in what
was meant to be a drbd primary/primary cluster being a primary/secondary
cluster until the vlan could be fixed with gfs only mounted on the one
server. I got the single server

Re: OpenCanvas 1.1 + Wacom Intuos Oddness
I've got the same problem with the y-axis inversion, does this patch fix it? And I've searched and searched and haven't found exactly how you apply a patch. I'm running ubuntu 8.04, with wine-1.0.
Thanks for the help!

F.E.A.R 2 Input Oddness
I'm trying to make sense of a problem running FEAR 2. I have the native xinput1_3.dll installed and have MouseWarpOverride->disable set in the registry. Using DxCapViewer it reports the correct mouse(traditional 3 button) and keyboard also.
The game loads fine and I get the mouse cursor and can click through the options but the crux is trying to bind a mouse button to any action is a

Oddness with SMB, PsExec, Win 7, etc...
Hi,
I've got a simple PHP script which is using psexec from sysinternals to
execute commands on a remote machine (which uses SMB under the hood). If I
run it from DOS it works fine. If I run the same script via apache it hangs.
Fired up Wireshark and had a look at what was going on. In the working
version the treeconnect calls go to the IPC$ and then the ADMIN$ accounts on
the remote machine.

vnc oddness
I'm seeing a problem where some VMs start but vnc access doesn't always
come up. Is this a known problem? I see Ian had a patch in March to
change when the vnc config occurs, is this related?
Cheers,
Justin.

Snom 220 Transfer Oddness
We just got a shiny new Snom 220 it's working great except..... When a
call on line one is picked up and another call comes in any attempt to
hit the transfer button actually connects the two incoming calls rather
than present a dial-tone for transfer. Which is quite a surprise for
the people on the other end.
Did I miss a setting? anyone have some insight?

More character conversion oddness
Howdy,
I've been following the thread at
http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba/2003-August/101401.html, and,
having encountered the bug mentioned, repackaged samba from CVS as of
about five hours ago.
Now I'm the smb service never starts, I'm getting the following (looped)
when stracing the smbd -D process it runs (see end of message)
Any ideas? TIA.

RODC DNS oddness
I just checked the SOA records on my samba DCs and noticed a few oddities:
michael at sles-bree:~> for i in ad{1..4} sles-bree sles-shire; do host -t
soa main.adlab.netdirect.ca $i | grep SOA; done
main.adlab.netdirect.ca has SOA record ad1.main.adlab.netdirect.ca.
hostmaster.main.adlab.netdirect.ca. 177 900 600 86400 3600
main.adlab.netdirect.ca has SOA record ad2.main.adlab.netdirect.ca.

smbclient oddness
I forgot to mention that using the smbclient option
-A /etc/cred/authfile
behaves the same way as attempting to manually enter the password on
the command line; failing in 4.12.2 and working in 4.11.0
Thanks, Grant.

Oddness with dfree command and Samba 2.2.3a
I am attempting to use the 'dfree command' option of smb.conf to handle
a few special cases and the like for returning disk free information.
The Samba server is acting in a PDC role, running Samba 2.2.3a on a
SunBlade 100 running Solaris 8, patched with all Recommended patches.
From a Windows 2000 box (the only thing I have handy to test with, and

Some dsound oddness
I had noticed a few weeks ago that sound for me on Riven was now having
problems. It used to be almost perfect, but now it was suddenly doing
things like changing pitch and speed, losing sync with the video, and
breaking up.
Of course I initially suspected a regression, though no one else
mentioned problems. I just now got around to spending a bit more time on
it and found it was not a

CVS oddness on Solaris.
Ok.. While helping someone else out with a Solaris 6 issue.. I'm noticing
something is broken on Solaris 7.. I've not verified it on Linux.. That is
my next step. But this is what I'm seeing.
I installed the latest CVS snapshot (actually from the Developer's tree
but no changes have been made since 21th), compiled, and installed.. and
now:

Hi all,
I''m not sure if this is a cucumber or webrat thing given that I only
starting tinkering with both last night for the first time (testing
newb as well), but I''ve come across an oddity when trying to write a
scenario to create a user.
Scenario: Register new user
