Ruby on Rails developers in Singapore?
Hi, Kind of wondering if there are any in Singapore, and if so would like to meet up to chat and talk shop? Maybe even form a support group for Rails, or form a community of Rails developers here? I''ve been using Rails for the past months developing an in-house web application, a port from an older application. Thks! -- Sau Sheong http://www.saush.com http://read.saush.com

How to secure web services created by ActionWebService?
Hi, Does anyone know how I can go about securing web services created from ActionWebService? The manual from rubyonrails.org (http://manuals.rubyonrails.com/read/book/10) doesn''t say anything at all on this ... or do I have to implement my own access control? -- Sau Sheong http://www.saush.com http://read.saush.com http://jaccal.sourceforge.net -------------- next part

DRb error when using rails_spec on OS X
Hi, all- I started playing with RSpec in a new Rails app. I''ve installed the plugin and bootstrapped it, and run ''script/rails_spec_runner'' (not rails_spec_server as the website currently reads, btw) in a separate shell, then in another shell I run ''script/rails_spec'' and get the following: /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/drb/drb.rb:837:in

breakpointer failing
Hey there, I got a new workstation going on here an Intel iMac, and I''ve compiled and installed everything with intel binaries. Everything works fine, I even got that cool clever lighttpd script running (http://www.bigbold.com/snippets/posts/show/303). But the one thing that doesn''t work is breakpoints and the breakpointer script. When I run script/breakpointer, I get the

Multiple Apps running under Lighttpd with scgi on a Windows Box ... possible?
I''ve run into a problem on one of my development machines. I''m trying to run multiple rails apps on one dev machine that runs Windows. Problem is that is seems that I can only run one scgi_service at a time, meaning that only one of my apps will function at a time. Anyone know how I can get around this, other than getting a *nix box (which I should have soon, hopefully) ?

Do I need to use a DRB server?
I''m finishing up a rails app that uses Ferret / AAF. I''m using shared hosting provided by railsplayground.com. My app is pretty small and is never going to get much traffic, so I''m going with the cheapest plan. Unfortunately, the cheapest plan doesn''t allow any static processes. I''ve read multiple recommendations to use a DRB server when using ferret

Documenting web services API''s
Sorry to have to post this again - it was probably under the wrong subject and went unnoticed. Is there a standard for providing user documentation for methods that I expose through we services? The default documentation (method names and return types) that appears when the user visits http://localhost:3000/backend/invoke is concise and correct, but a bit terse. How can I give my users a little
