Dell PowerConnect 2724 Switch and QoS for VOIP?
Has anyone had any experience with the Dell PowerConnect 2724 Gigabit Switch and VoIP traffic? It seems to support Class of Service (CoS), but not full Quality of Service (QoS). Will CoS help prioritize VoIP traffic at all? I am setting up an asterisk PBX for 22 users with very light traffic, but I don't want to have the call start skipping just because someone is pulling a large

Alternative to laptop
On 7/10/19 2:52 AM, H wrote: > I am considering buying a small, and therefore easily portable, computer as an alternative to the laptop I already have. Obviously it would not have battery, a screen, nor a keyboard etc. but more or less be an easily portable computing unit to move between offices where a keyboard and monitor(s) could then be connected. I want to run CentOS 7, later CentOS 8.

Anyone Using a Dell PowerEdge T105 in Production
Unbeatable price for a low end Asterisk server (or any server for that matter) http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=04&kc=6W300&l=en&oc=bednv4k&s=bsd I wonder if anyone has any experience with this box and Digium or Sangoma hardware? Any compatibility issues? If not, I might stock up on them. Thanks, Steve Totaro -------------- next part

pbx -> fiber -> network media converter -> wifi -> network media converter -> fiber -> pbx ???
Please forgive the (almost?) OT post. (and the fact that I need a clue-bat) We've got a situation at one of our sites where a construction crew is likely to dig up our conduit which houses some data fiber and one pair of fiber used to tie a Definity 3gsi at a small office building to the rest of the phone system (school district). We're using a pair of Aeronets to the data network stays

Using Asterisk with fiber optic
Hi, I'd like to use PSTN and analogic telephone with a Asterisk server which works on a LAN connected to the outside with fiber optic, on which voice stream passes too. Do I need some particular solution, some particular card to make it works or I just need a Digium or similar fxo card? Thanks, Bob __________________________________________________________________ Tiscali ADSL Senza Canone,

Centos-4 Kernel pannic
Hi all, We are running a new Centos-4 server, and it has kernel panicked on us 4 times in the last month. After the first kernel panic we hooked up a serial console to the server and captured the output in order to have a record of what happens. I've included the error messages from the last time it locked up... but it doesn't really mean much to me. Anybody have any ideas what might be

Fiber or regular DSL Supported Gateways/PRI
Hello Everyone, I am looking to getting converged with the local ILEC here in Canada (Bell or Telus), and was wondering if I can get some more information about typical setups. DIDs and channel offerings from third party clecs does not fit our business model and that's why we are looking to purchasing phone numbers directly from the ILEC, and manging our own PRIs for a convergence of sorts.

Openfiler question - fiber channel?
Hey folks, I don't seem to be able to get a response from the openfiler forums (and they want 40 quid for the fine manual!), and since there has been a lot of chat about it here lately, I figured I'd ask here. Please forgive my terminology as I am just making my first baby steps into iSCSI and Fiber Channel, and am not very well read on the matters. So I could be using the wrong terms

Fiber Channel target with CentOS 6.7?
Hi all, I've been googling for this for a day now and I can't seem to find a coherent structured way to build a fiber channel storage box where CentOS 6.7 is used both at the fiber channel target and initiator ends. My Brocade HBA:s are installed and the driver loads just fine in both boxes. Any ideas, pointers or URL:s are more than welcome. Thanks, Joacim

Inexpensive Layer 3 Switch?
Any recommendations on an economical layer 3 switch? Preferably something that you have hands on experience with connecting to IP phones with attached PCs? Specifically I need the ability to set the VLAN in the phone to tag voice packets and to set a native VLAN on a per port basis on the switch to put the untagged packets from the attached PC into a separate VLAN. POE is not a requirement

Centos on the decTOP?
https://store.dataevolution.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=DT%2D7001 For $99 a nice little system with AMD Geode GX500 128Mb memory and 10Gb disk. Upgrade to 256Mb and off we go? Replace the hard drive with a Flash card, and run off a battery pack? Add Bluetooth (lower power draw that 802.11) and run IP over it to your desktop.... It does have ethernet, so a crossover cable works too.
