virConnectOpen question.
Hi,
I am using virConnectOpen(const char *uri) to connect to the local
hypervisor. When uri is set to "lxc:///", an error gets logged
in /var/log/messages about failed connection. But I do not see any error
for "xen:///". The machine does not have these drivers installed, and I am
using libvirt 0.6.3. My questions are -
1. Why I see error in /var/log/messages for container

Get data of Physical Machine
Hey,
What kind of data de NodeInfo represents? With my researches I thought that
it should return the data of the physical machine. But in my tests, when I
run with diferents URLs in Connect creation the values of nodeInfo
variables are differents. For example: it's the same machine, but if I run
with xen:/// the memory is X and if I run with qemu:///session the memory
is Y.

Release of libvirt-0.9.2
As planned the new release is available at:
ftp://libvirt.org/libvirt/
It is a rather large release with near 400 commits included. From
an user point of view the main improvement is likely to be when
using migration as various work has been done to extend the protocol
and to avoid having the migration command stop other concurrent
operations (like virsh list). See below for a number of

Release of libvirt-0.9.0
As scheduled, libvirt 0.9.0 was tagged and pushed today, it's
available from FTP at:
ftp://libvirt.org/libvirt/
This is a large release w.r.t. the amount of features and changes,
and well worth bumping the middle version number. We are also getting
closer to a 1.0.0 release !
Features:
- Support cputune cpu usage tuning (Osier Yang and Nikunj A. Dadhania)
- Add public APIs for storage

[PATCH] Converter: Fixes to Xen metadata conversion
Specifically fixes the issue where <script path='vif-bridge'/> would be
corrupted rather than removed properly. Makes metadata conversion less generic.

Source RPM please
Hi,
I''m a long ext3 user (rpmfind.net). I propagated ext3 on some of our
server box (W3C webservers are ext3 based too now).
I might be tempted of testing out your kernel RPMs but unavailability
or the source RPM and the SMP version are definite showstoppers. Please
provide them. In the meantime I will stick to my own set of kernel ext3
RPMs at ftp://rpmfind.net/pub/veillard/ext3/

conga and "virsh nodeinfo"
Hi folks,
I have run into a confusing problem.
My initial problem is: Conga does not offer "Add a virtual machine
service". So I googled and found a RedHat advisory on that:
http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2009-1623.html
which points updates that should fix this.
I checked on my cluster, but the relevant packages are current (and even
if ALL packages are current it does not work).

virt-install fails in b75a
After an "exaustive" search on what may be causing this, I still can''t figure it out.
I keep getting this same error when trying to run virt-install:

Please make the journal file unmodified by user processes
Please forbid user level process to touch or unling the journal
file when the partition is ext3 mounted ... at all !
So far this weakness has been my main problem when using ext3
on production systems. Happened to rpmfind machines a couple of times,
at best a program removed the journal inode from the FS list and
it cannot be mounted at next reboot. At worse the content of the
journal.dat is

virt-install fails on SXDE build 87
Hi. I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2/dual core processor and 2 gigs of ram running SXDE/87 (as far as I can tell, it''s on a ufs filesystem, not zfs). I''m attempting to install Vista from cd and the virt-install command fails with the same error regardless of what I do. I''m running this from my user (not root) account. I''m using qemu-img to create my hard drive images.

Please remove pm-utils dep from libvirt-clients
Hi,
I'm going to be retiring pm-utils from Fedora soon; it's completely
dead upstream and it not needed anymore by upower or anything else.
Nothing other than libvirt-clients depends on it, so when I tried to
remove this from rawhide I noticed this commit:
commit 7069f75cb8dad58715f723fd542e4ff69dbff51b

[PATCH nbdkit 2/4] guestfs, libvirt: Rename ‘connect’ global to avoid -Wshadow warning.
We are going to change <nbdkit-common.h> so it includes
<sys/socket.h>. However because this exports connect(2) we need to
rename globals called ‘connect’ to avoid a conflict.

operation on ‘numsels’ may be undefined
Dear all,
Since many years the following C++ code does compile on ALL Bioconductor
servers (Linux, Windows, Mac) without any warnings:
Int_t numsels = 0; //number of selected entries

for (Int_t i=0; i<size; i++) {
numsels = (arrMask[i] == 1) ? ++numsels : numsels;
}//for_i
Even on the recently added release server 'zin2' Linux (Ubuntu 12.04.4
LTS) the
