Run away memory with gluster mount
Hi Dan,
It sounds like you might be running into [1]. The patch has been posted
upstream and the fix should be in the next release.
In the meantime, I'm afraid there is no way to get around this without
restarting the process.
Regards,
Nithya

Run away memory with gluster mount
Hi Dan,
I had a suggestion and a question in my previous response. Let us know whether the suggestion helps and please let us know about your data-set (like how many directories/files and how these directories/files are organised) to understand the problem better.

uninterruptible processes writing to glusterfs share
hi!
sometimes we've on some client-servers hanging uninterruptible processes
("ps aux" stat is on "D" ) and on one the CPU wait I/O grows within some
minutes to 100%.
you are not able to kill such processes - also "kill -9" doesnt work -
when you connect via "strace" to such an process, you wont see anything
and you cannot detach it again.

Not real confident in 3.3
I do not mean to be argumentative, but I have to admit a little
frustration with Gluster. I know an enormous emount of effort has gone
into this product, and I just can't believe that with all the effort
behind it and so many people using it, it could be so fragile.
So here goes. Perhaps someone here can point to the error of my ways. I
really want this to work because it would be ideal

bugs in version 3.1
I'm having two problems.
The first is that when running with --files-from and -ii unmodified
files are not put in the log. --out-format=%-14b %C %-14l %i %B %M %f
All that appears in the log is
Number of files: 0
Number of created files: 0
Number of regular files transferred: 0
Total file size: 0 bytes
Total transferred file size: 0 bytes
Literal data: 0 bytes
Matched data: 0 bytes

pre 1 OSX errors
Hi Wayne,
Trying out 3.1 pre 1 on OSX 10.8.4
I like the new extended stats and the ir-chunk file numbers in log. Also getting a lot of errors and most copies not completing to local disk. rsync just stalls.
Standard osx build:
patch -p1 <patches/fileflags.diff
patch -p1 <patches/crtimes.diff
patch -p1 <patches/hfs-compression.diff
./configure
make
rsync --fileflags --force-change

CIFS Documentation
Hello,
It would be a good idea to update the Documentation about CIFS:
http://gluster.com/community/documentation/index.php/Gluster_3.2:_Exporting_Gluster_Volumes_Through_Samba
When the simple truth is, that there is no CIFS Support in gluster itself - it should not be in the
docs.
As I found out, this was also suggested earlier:
