Gluster update | need your support
Dear Members, Even though Gluster team is growing at a steady phase, our aggressive development schedule out phases our resources. We need to expand and also maintain a 1:1 developer / QA engineer ratio. Our major development focus in the next 8 months will be towards: * Large scale regression tests (24/7/365) * Web based monitoring and management * Hot upgrade/add/remove of storage nodes

Sharing home directories between two symetric nodes?
Hello, I just discovered Gluster a couple of weeks ago and went through the initial documentation and got it compiled. It looks very promising both for my home network and for work. For now I'm concentrating at home - We have to Ubuntu 8.04 desktops, one for me and one for my wife. We generally try to keep them off when not used but at any time any one of them could be up or down. I was

1.3.10 compile failure on FC9 w/ Gluster-patched Fuse
Hello all, I am attempting to compile Gluster 1.3.10 on a newly-installed Fedora Core 9 machine, without success. The only non-stock package on the otherwise vanilla system is the Gluster version of Fuse. ----------------------- # rpm -qa | grep fuse fuse-devel-2.7.3glfs10-1.i386 fuse-2.7.3glfs10-1.i386 fuse-libs-2.7.3glfs10-1.i386 # rpmbuild -ta glusterfs-1.3.10.tar.gz (..snip..) make[5]:

GlusterFS compared to KosmosFS (now called cloudstore)?
Hi. I'm evaluating GlusterFS for our DFS implementation, and wondered how it compares to KFS/CloudStore? These features here look especially nice ( http://kosmosfs.sourceforge.net/features.html). Any idea what of them exist in GlusterFS as well? Regards. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

locks feature not loading ? (2.0.0rc1)
Hi all, I upgraded from 1.4.0rc3 to 2.0.0rc1 in my test environment, and while the upgrade itself went smoothly, i appear to be having problems with the (posix-)locks feature. :( The feature is clearly declared in the server config file, and according to the DEBUG-level logs, it is loaded successfully at runtime ; however, when Gluster attempts to lock an object (for the purposes of AFR

Self-heal's behavior: problem on "replace" -- it leaves garbage.
Hi. I'm using GlusterFS v1.3.12 (glusterfs-1.3.12.tar.gz) via FUSE (fuse-2.7.3glfs10.tar.gz) on CentOS 5.2 x86_64 (Linux kernel 2.6.18-92.el5) now. The nodes are HP Proliant DL360 G5 (as GlusterFS Client) and DL180 G5 (as GlusterFS Servers). And the connections are all TCP/IP on Gigabit ethernet. Then, I tested self-heal and I found a technical problem about "replace" -- self-heal

rsync for DOS
I have recently completed a port of rsync to DOS. It is compiled using Borland C 3.1 to run in real-mode DOS (because my target was a hand-held computer with little memory). There are a few compromises, for example it is client only, it does not support rsh or ssh and the file names on the server must be in DOS format if they are to be sync'd correctly. There is more information and a

Concatenate strings
Hi everyone. Mandatory disclaimer: New to puppet/clueless but learning/please don''t get fed up with me yet... Mandatory praise: Love puppet so far... Template problem
Hi All, I have been bashing my head against the wall with this template problem. I have tried numerous variations on this, but the gist of it is this: When I create a template of over 105 (or so) lines, I get various strange error messages. Those messages vary depending on very tiny changes with the template (such as adding a single text line or variable). Sometimes the errors look like this:

get means of elements of 5 matrices in a list
I've got a list of 5 matrices that are each 5 x 6. I'd like to end up with a 5 x 6 matrix that contains the mean value of the 5 original matrices. I can do this by brute force, but there must be a better way than making each matrix into a vector and then remaking a matrix thanks very much for any help david freedman ll=list(structure(c(9.7, 17.6, 20.8, 24.1, 33.8, 14.5, 25.7, 29.8,

fill in area between 2 lines with a color
Hi - I'd like to have the area between 2 lines on a x-y plot be filled with grey, but I haven't had any luck using polygon or rect. (In reality, I'd like to do this for twice - once for a low group and once for a high group - and then I'd like to plot a set of data points for a 'normal' group together with these 2 grey areas.) Here's a simple example of the 2 lines:

data.frame and formula classes of aggregate
Hi - I apologize for the 2nd post, but I think my question from a few weeks ago may have been overlooked on a Friday afternoon. I might be missing something very obvious, but is it widely known that the aggregate function handles missing values differently depending if a data frame or a formula is the first argument ? For example, (d<- data.frame(sex=rep(0:1,each=3),
