Directory index forbidden by rule: /var/www/html/
I'm looking to troubleshoot this error when I run "tail /etc/httpd/logs/error_log" [Tue Oct 09 07:22:59 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Directory index forbidden by rule: /var/www/html/ (I get this when I run Nagios' "./check_http -H 127.0.0.1".) Nagios asterisk monitoring
Dear list, I am trying to configure the nagios plugin called check_sip. I just read the README file included with the plugin. I follow the readme steps to configure the plugin, without success. In the nagios web interface I can see (No output!) In the status information column. If I run the chech_sip plugin from a linux console, I get /usr/local/nagios/libexec# ./check_sip -u

bug: recursive directory copy that re-copies nightly
I''m seeing a recurring, nightly copy of files which are not changing. I get the following message every night from tagmail. 1. It happens once per day (not every 30 minutes) 2. The files haven''t changed in months 3. The files aren''t changing -- there''s only one md5 in the clientbucket for each file 4. There''s no schedule on the resource 5. The files

how to make puppet a killer app
I''ve been thinking about how to make Puppet a killer app, and I think there is one specific thing that could be done to help make that happen: People using Puppet now to consistently state what they *really* wish Puppet could do for them -- the recent thread around Puppet on Windows is in that vein, but it''s not specific enough. For example, I''d like to know what

how do you test (nagios) that upsmon is connected?
Dear all, I got nut going on one machine as standalone and on another 2 as master/slave and would like to add some checks to nagios to make sure that things are in order. Most of the checks I've seen out there use upsc to check the ups. This is a step forward compared to no monitoring, however as far as I can tell it doesn't really address what I think is a critical point: upsmon is

Samba AD DC, DHCP & Address Assignments
Hi All, I should have considered this beforehand... Assumed the info would be in the Wiki somewhere. Cannot find. The way our LAN has been working is clients use DHCP, but all address assignments are static. Thus, when a given PC asks "what's my address?", the DHCP server looks at the MAC address and asks the configured resolver what is the IP address for the hostname for that

Quality monitoring
Does anyone out there have a recommendation for tools that will monitor the quality of VoIP systems? I am looking for jitter and MOS monitoring. I have a custom Nagios plugin that is alerting me if the jitter jumps out of a 20ms but I am looking for a little more detail. I would not be against writing something in Perl for Nagios to do but I don't really know where to start on measuring jitter

how do you test (nagios) that upsmon is connected?
On my Nagios monitoring system I use check_nut_plus (that in turn calls upsc) to monitor the status (ups.status), load (ups.load), battery charge (battery.charge) and runtime (battery.runtime). If these return "unknown", it means upsd is no longer monitoring the UPS. As long as you get data, upsd is working. PS: as an example, this is my check for the status: /usr/bin/perl -w

[LLVMdev] Readnone/Readonly Function Attributes and Optimization
Dear All, Are functions marked as readnone or readonly in the LLVM IR allowed to generate output or to exhibit exceptional behavior (e.g., calling abort(), generating an MMU fault, etc.)? The SAFECode compiler has a set of run-time checks that pass or fail based solely on the input arguments and, in some cases, global state. They do not modify a program's global state, but they do print

[LLVMdev] Readnone/Readonly Function Attributes and Optimization
Hi John, > Are functions marked as readnone or readonly in the LLVM IR allowed to > generate output or to exhibit exceptional behavior (e.g., calling > abort(), generating an MMU fault, etc.)? they are allowed to unwind exceptions for example, since in theory this can occur without scrunching externally visible memory (for example unwinding can be done by having functions return an

Dovecot, LVS and the issues I have with it.
We run around 5 dovecot (debian etch 1.0.rc15) POP/IMAP 'nodes' using the LVS load balancer and an NFS based SAN. it works pretty well. I love the robustness of load balancing POP/IMAP. We do a reasonable amount of throughput through these especially at peak times pushing our SAN to around 1.5k IOP/s We currently have two issues with this setup. One of which is NFS index corruption

sshd: listen on ip1:port1 and ip2:port2
Hello, with CentOS 6.2 - is it possible to configure OpenSSH daemon to listen on different IPs _and_ ports? I have received a 2nd IP address for my server and have successfully configured by adding the new "/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0:1" file. I'd like SSHd to keep listening at the_old_ip:22 but also at the_new_ip:443. The 443 on the_old_ip is already taken by
