Help with the bugtracker
Hi Guys,
There are a fair few issues reported at bugs.centos.org around virt
issues, Xen / KVM and even VMware stuff. And I know there is a lot of
knowledge and talent around those areas here on this list.
Just wondering if some of the people here might be able to help with
those issues on bugs.c.o - it should not be more than a few hours / week
in terms of commitment.
Thanks for

OpenNebula on CentOS-6
hi,
Some of you might have seen the email on the centos-devel list, for the
rest I just wanted to point out that we've been working on getting
opennebula ( http://www.opennebula.org/ ) rpms and contextualised images
for opennebula available with a very low barrier to entry for CentOS.
The 'win' with OpenNebula is that its easy to install, easy to get
going, scales well and mostly

amazon web services and CentOS
hi,
Over the last few months, based on the fact that people were asking me
about it, I was in turn asking Amazon what they are doing to make CentOS
available on their EC2 platform.
After much conversation to / from their end, they are in a situation
where they have offered me some access and credits to make the whole
CentOS on AWS happen. This is the sort of thing right up the VirtSIG

AWS images and the Sydney zone
hi guys,
So it turns out that Sydney is too new a zone and not in the regular AWS
image-production-pipeline. Although that should get fixed soon, in the
mean time, should we go ahead and push images there ourselves ?

pre-built images
Tru has already been building vmware images (
http://people.centos.org/tru/vmware/ ) for various roles.
I was wondering if there was any interest in prebuilt Xen images as well
? And if so, what would be the roles people would want images done for,
and what might be suiteable package sets to include for those roles.

Xen Minimal images for CentOS 4 and 5 x86_64
Hi,
A while back I had created some minimal Xen images for centos-4 and centos-5 on
x86_64 paravirt under a c5 x86_64 install.
The images are at : http://www.karan.org/mock/Xen/
root account password for these images is : p4s5w0rd
Feel free to look and use/abuse as you like, yum is completely functional within
the images and its recommended you do a 'yum update' as soon as possible.

Vendor Specific / Agnostic images
hi guys,
I've been going round in circles trying to workout the best way to
handle vendor agnostic images and in the interest of sanity and actually
getting something out of the door - it looks like the best pln is to get
the vendor specific requirements and push images with them ( and
suitability marked )
With that in mind, AWS is a good target to start with. Do people have
opinions on :

network and stability issues
hi Guys,
Over the last 24 hours we have had a series of stability issues. First,
the DC our mail/lists machine is hosted in had power issues ( Internap
LGA9, NY, USA ); then we had a h/w failure and needed a chassis swap (
thanks to the guys in the DC who executed this within minutes ); and we
have since again had network issues - although power to the DC and the
server seems stable now.

4.1 being dropped from mirrors
Hi guys,
Just to let everyone know that the CentOS 4.1 tree will be dropped from
the mirrors shortly, since 4.2 has now been out for a week. If anyone
has their yum config's hardwired to point at 4.1 - those config's will
now stop working.
The 4.1 repo's will be available at http://vault.centos.org/ once they
are removed from http://mirror.centos.org/ ( and all external mirrors

moin auth from http-auth
hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone know the possibility of getting Moin to inherit
http auth ?
Was just looking at a few things that we might be able to do - and using
inherit from http auth might make life a bit easier for us, and users.
