TLS / SSL mixed w/ plaintext auth and virtual hosting
Traditionally this server has only accepted plaintext authentications; however, we want to change that and enable TLS/SSL. The challenge is the server has hundreds of IP addresses it binds to to listen on ports 110/143. Enabling TLS/SSL is not an option because as this is a virtual hosting environment, if a connection comes in on any other hostname other than the specific one tied to the crt all

*Hi, I've been getting the following error from time to time since i started to use dovecot more than one year ago: dovecot: May 07 19:57:24 Error: auth(default): Master request 88729.43523 not found I haven't stopped upgrading dovecot with the hope that this would be a bug and would be fixed some day, but with v1.0.0, i keep getting the same error. lmtp: help needed
Hi all, parsing the mailing list archive, it seems that the lmtp-server will not be developed soon, so I'm looking for someone that could help me in writing one, even if not the best one. That's why: I've just started to study dovecot, as I was recruited, just about forced, to help The System Manager of our University in the global e-mail migration - more than 37'000 users, 440

SASL using different auth database?
Hi folks. Is it possible to configure Dovecot to authenticate against one mechanism (i.e., /etc/passwd) for POP/IMAP connections, while providing a SASL authentication socket that satisfies authentication requests against a different mechanism, say MySQL? The goal here is to allow users to have different passwords for SMTP authentication and POP/IMAP connections. I am converting an

Sort output of dovecot -n alphabetically?
Is there a way? Postfix does this by default, and it makes it much less likely to miss/overlook a setting... If there is no way, any chance to modify it so that it does? Thanks for dovecot! Really looking forward to 1.1 release! -- Best regards, Charles

Troubleshooting enhancement request...
Hi Timo, You were good enough to add the -n flag to the dovecot command to output the current *changed* config parameters (changed as compared to the defaults) of the running dovecot process. This makes it much easier to troubleshoot issues - thanks! Another flag that postfix has is the -d flag (postconf -d). This one outputs all of the DEFAULTS of the current running postfix

Which version works with NullDC 1.0.3?
Hello. I'm currently running Debian Wheezy (testing), and I'm unable to get NullDC to run. It keeps erring out with D3D messages. After reading the Wiki, I see that some were able to get it running. Can someone help me find a specific version of Wine that'll run this emulator? I've already tried 1.0.1, and 1.3.19. They are the current versions in Debian testing, and

namespace problem / 1.1beta11
Hi all, actually I got a problem with the namespaces in dovecot 1.1 beta11. It occured after purging index files and resynch via imapsync. Dovecot complains about "Unknown namespace", though it worked with versions before. I cannot comfirm for 1.1beta10, but I surely know 1.1beta9 worked with these settings. Example: From Folder [INBOX/Trash] To Folder [___________] To Folder

NT network can't browse Samba
Hi, I'm trying to setup a Linux box with Samba (1.9.18p10) and it isn't having any luck making a home for itself on the network. If I go to a Windows95 machine, I see all (well most) machines on the net there, but not the Linux box. I can also not see any other machines from the Linux box. Here is log.nmbd output that repeats every 5 seconds or so: find_workgroup_on_subnet: workgroup

Centring titles for pairs of plots.
I would like to centre titles for pairs of plots in a 3-x-2 array. Each row of the array corresponds to a calendar year and I would like to have the year value centred between the two plots in the row, and just above their upper edges. I have attached an example in "demo.pdf" showing roughly what I want. I managed to produce the example using

transpose of complex matrices in R
Hello everybody When one is working with complex matrices, "transpose" very nearly always means *Hermitian* transpose, that is, A[i,j] <- Conj(A[j,i]). One often writes A^* for the Hermitian transpose. I have only once seen a "real-life" case where transposition does not occur simultaneously with complex conjugation. And I'm not 100% sure that that wasn't a

Configure Dovecot to move read mails to another folder?
Hallo, is it possible (with dovecot sieve?) to deliver incoming mails to the default INBOX and then, when I have read the mail with Thunderbird, automatically move it to another folder? I know I could create filters in my mail client. But that has the disadvantage that I would need to create these filters everywhere: on my office PC, at home, webmail, ... Also moving a mail from one folder

mailbox problem
Hi list! Since a week I am testing with dovecot, and I must say, I like it a lot :) Keep up the good work :) I do have one questing regarding dovecot: If I login to a mailbox, and the mailbox does NOT exist, and the parent directory does not exist either, I will get disconnected, and dovecot claims it cannot create the directory. (eg: my user blah at test.com has mail directory

Bulk add users and rfc2307 attributes questions
Hi, I am currently testing a self compiled 4.7.0rc3 AD DC and a samba member server acting as a file server. I have them configured to use rfc2307 attributes so that the samba users can access the shares on the member server. Everything seems to be working as expected. The problem I am facing is I need to add about 150 users. Once the initial load of users is added I want to use the rsat tools

Rmpi, openMPI editions.
Greetings. I see a warning message while compiling OpenMPI and would appreciate it if you tell me what it means. This warning happens with any OpenMPI > 1.6.5. Even before starting a cluster, just "sessionInfo" triggers this warning. I'm pasting in the message from R-3.3.2 (this is MRO). Do the R parallel package cluster functions violate the warnings described here? >
