Fedora and EPEL sport SquidGuard 1.4.36. Now when you search for "squidguard", this seems to be the project site: * http://squidguard.org/index.html

SquidGuard update in EPEL
Hi, The SquidGuard URL redirector has recently been updated in EPEL, and I'm a bit puzzled. I'm still using SquidGuard on a few local proxy servers running CentOS 7, because it's a nifty piece of software for filtering web traffic. The project's home page has remained unchanged for more than ten years: * http://www.squidguard.org/ It looks like the project has been dormant or

Running Shorewall with Squidguard on same machine
Hi, I''m trying to get Shorewall to work with Squidguard on a machine which is acting as the fileserver, firewall, proxy server and internet access point for a small network. The network at present consists of the fileserver/firewall machine running RH 8.0, two Linux boxes running various RH distributions and two windows virtual machines running on the other machines under Win4Lin.

Squid + SquidGuard : static block page not working
Hi, I've been working with Squid + SquidGuard for a few years, though only on Slackware. I'm currently transferring my proxy expertise to CentOS 7, and right now I'm having a little problem with that. Squid works perfectly so far as a transparent HTTP + HTTPS cache proxy. The next step is to add SquidGuard, so I installed it and edited the most basic /etc/squid/squidGuard.conf file

Define HTTP proxy system-wide (Squid and Squidguard) ?
Hi, I'm currently configuring Squid and Squidguard for filtering web access in a public computer room. So far, everything works fine. I know how to configure Firefox to use a proxy, but there's no way to protect that configuration, e. g. a more knowledgeable user might circumvent this configuration. Is there some way to configure an HTTP proxy system-wide? Cheers from the sunny

Shell Script Pointers?
Hey Listee's I am trying to write a shell script to sort and compare my blacklist for squidGuard with the nightly updates that come down in a tar ball. It should be rather simple but I'm not to grate at this. The script is to run nightly, it will download the latest blacklist tarball, un tar it and then add any new entries to the existing black list. The blacklists work by having a folder

why do I get ensure changed 'purged' to 'present' on a package when it is already installed
Hi all, I have created a squid class that also installs squidGuard. When I run puppetd I always get notice: //Node[xxxx.xxxxxx.xxx]/squid/squid::install/ Package[squidGuard]/ensure: ensure changed ''purged'' to ''present'' even though the package is already installed - why is this change in package status happening as it then triggers my exec resource which is
