Replication failing with Win 2012 R2 (maybe)
Hello All, WIndows DC reports (not for the entire directory, just a portion. See outputs below). "The replication operation failed because of a schema mismatch between the servers involved.? I suspect the error is a red herring. Running several Samba DCs at multiple sites. Version 4.11.6-Debian from Louis?s repo (on Ubuntu 18) ?vdcw00? is the Windows 2012 R2 server ?cdcx15? is the Samba

Hai, ? I've just upgrade samba on my DC's from 4.10.10 to 4.11.2. Which went fine offcourse ;-) but when i checking my replications i noticed the following. ? If people have problems upgrading, the steps to take are : ( Debian buster, samba upgrade 4.10=> 4.11 van-belle repo. ) # update 4.10 to 4.11 sed 's/410/411/g'? /etc/apt/sources.list.d/van-belle.list apt update apt

Possible problems with AD Schema in Samba 4
I don't think the problem is the schema. It's more likely a replication problem. Firstly, the Samba schema is only used when you provision a new domain. In this case you have joined an existing Windows domain, so you are using the *Windows* schema. (I think it's actually impossible to provision a Samba domain with the 2008 schema - Samba only supports 2008R2 onwards). Secondly,

Hai, What is the running OS and version of samba on these servers. Can you post some configs of these DC's ( all 3 ) /etc/hosts /etc/resolv.conf /etc/samba/smb.conf And for all 3 this the keytab output. klist -ke /var/lib/samba/private/secrets.keytab Your also sure you servers time is not out of sync? Possible problems with AD Schema in Samba 4
Hi, I found that the base of Samba 4 DC is different from the base of Windows Server 2008 DC. There are many mistakes when I make the comparison as the result as follows (only parts of reult): samba-tool ldapcmp ldap://WINDC1 ldap://SAMBA4-DC -Uadministrator Password for [EMPRESA\administrator]: * Comparing [DOMAIN] context... * DN lists have different size: 1787 != 1788 * DNs found only in

One DC cannot authenticate off of another DC
Hello Samba Friends, I have a single DC (we'll call it, "DC1") that simply will not take my password when I run this command:? #samba-tool ldapcmp ldap://dc2 ldap://dc3 -Uadministrator? Or this command:? #samba-tool ldapcmp ldap://dc1 ldap://dc2 -Uadministrator? I basically get this:? > Password for [SAMDOM\administrator]:? > Password for [SAMDOM\administrator]:?

Samba 4.10 member: SMB login no longer working
Thank you, Louis, for your reply. By simply asking me to provide outputs of the aforementioned files, I found the cause of my first problem (auth failing). It was my /etc/hosts file on dc1. All of them should look like this, and indeed DC2 and DC3's *did* look like this: # cat /etc/hosts > 127.0.0.1 ? ? ? localhost.samdom.mycompany.net ?localhost > 192.168.3.201

OK, tried that. Kicked myself for not trying earlier... but it didn't work. In fact, the error has got worse. Now when I try to go from Genesis to Luke I get: sudo samba-tool drs replicate luke genesis DC=kcs,DC=local -Udomainadmin . . Replication only working one way
Checking the databases against each other throws up pages and pages of errors. The two are completely out of sync now. What I have seen is that for no apparent reason, one of the servers suddenly decided it would sync with the Windows server, which appears to have updated the schema. Yesterday when I compared the databases on the two linux servers they only had a couple of errors, today, many

Samba AD/DC Sync To Windows DC Failures
I just added a window server 2008 r2 to be a backup DC for our samba 4.4.5 AD/DC but I am getting an error when trying to manually sync samba to the windows server. I used the link on the wiki site to make the initial sync, which worked great ยง <https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Joining_a_Windows_Server_2008_/_2008_R2_ DC_to_a_Samba_AD> Joining a Windows Server 2008 / 2008 R2 DC to a
