I keep seeing different approaches/recommendations as to which DNS services to utilize for an AD controller... what are your recommendations, and why? SAMBA_INTERNAL dns-backend limitations
Hi, I see https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_Internal_DNS_Back_End#Limitations The internal DNS does not support: * acting as a caching resolver * recursive queries * shared-key transaction signature (TSIG) * stub zones * zone transfers * Round Robin load balancing among DC's but this was relevant for 2018-2019. What limitations remain now? For 4.17.12 and 4.19.3 --

standalone ADDC with samba_internal dns backend - windows client do not register in dns
In short: BIND9_DLZ to avoid issues. Regarding your issue with internal DNS and client updates, I don't know if Windows client rely on DNS I would check SOA record of root zone to verify it is set up correctly (ie it is aiming a valid DC, up and well running) with: dig -t SOA your.domain.tld (on linux) nslookup -type=soa your.domain.tld (on windows) You must receive a reply. Dear all, I have a few question regarding to DNS and upgrading from Samba 4.1.17 to 4.4.2. During provisioning (some years ago) I have decided to use BIND9_FLATFILE. At this moment I would like to upgrade to Samba 4.4.2 and

Passing an R matrix to a C program
Hello, I'm starting to write a C function that gets a list and a matrix from R. I'm using .Call because I've undertood that this is recommended to handle lists (am I wrong?). My problem is that I can pass the matrix as a vector, but not as a 2D array. For example, in the following simple C program: #include <R.h> #include <Rdefines.h> SEXP printListElement(SEXP list,

good lords of Kobol, that solved my problem ! thank you very much ! As we can consider this as an official workaround, should it be in the wiki ? rearrange problem
Hi All, I am trying to rearrange alphabetically each element in a character vector. ex: say the first element in the vector is "cba", and my goal is to turn it into "abc". The suggested function to use is sort(). But it turns out that sort doesn't work at the level of element. So I am wondering that if there is an alternative function for this purpose. Please help me out .
