Preparing for replication: dsync-local(testaccount): Panic: file mbox-lock.c
I am preparing a bit for setting up replication. However when I manually
try to dsync an account, the first time I execute this[1] command it
seems to be ok. The 2nd time I am getting this error[2].
If I add -1 (one way syncing) the error disappears. Does this mean I
will have problems with setting up replication between these two
servers?

Performance mdbox vs mbox
If I do the same test[1] with mbox I can store around 31k messages and
mdbox 16k messages. I noticed also that cpu and disk utilization with
mdbox was not very high, while disk utilization on mbox was much higher.
That makes me wonder if I can tune mdbox to have better performance?

Mail received but not indexed?
I have recently that some users are complaining about that they are not
getting emails. While I see that they are delivered and in the inbox.
When I do a doveadm force-resync -u xxxx INBOX it resolves the problem.
I think this is something recent. Where/how should I resolve this issue?

[Issue] Does the *-pbx cmd page honour the absolute timeout value?
I had an incident, whereby the caller didn't either hang-up their SIP
phone properly or the disconnect/hang-up information didn't properly
find their way back to the Asterisk-PBX and it left the company phone
system in intercom mode with about 90 phones overnight (624mins, CPU
utilisation was running much higher than normal until i used the

Note: "The default device has been opened to honour attempt to modify trellis settings"
R-help,
I'm using a function whose end result is a trellis plot.
When I call the function I get sometimes the following message:
"Note: The default device has been opened to honour attempt to modify
trellis settings "
leading up to any plot whatsoever.
I call the package 'lattice' within the function and 'detach' after
plotting.
I have to close the graphics

doveadm mailbox list shows file system directories as mailboxes
Hello.
In our dovecvot we use mbox format with the default filesystem layout.
Therefore it is not possible to have mailboxes which are subfolders of
other mailboxes containing messages.
The command "doveadm mailbox list" includes the file system
directories, that contain only subfolders, as normal mailboxes in the
output:

archiv/daemon
archiv/dovecot

Local lmtp proxy on backend server
I added this:
passdb {
driver = passwd
skip = authenticated
}
Which enables indeed local delivery, I also noticed this. Maybe the
password field check shoud not be done, when you enable skip
authentication?

Local lmtp proxy on backend server
I receive a local mail when I do a 'mail test' on a backend svr1 with
this[0] configuration. However when I just add only one configuration
change 'lmtp_proxy = yes' I am getting these errors[1]. I would expect
this email to still be delivered locally, should this be working or do I
misunderstand the lmtp proxy functionality?

users's mailboxes = mbox , shared mailboxes = maildir ... is it possible ?
Hello
I solved my previous SSL problem by reinstalling dovecot2 ... :-)
at FreeBSD 8.1
Now I'm using dovecot 2 , cool ...
Actually my production mail server runs with MBOX format but reading
the dovecot 2 wiki I read shared mailboxes are only working well with
Maildir format.
As I would like to setup some shared mailboxes, is it possible to have
MBOX format for normal users ( UNIX NIS

You recommend I should change this? I have already a new setup where I
am using[0]. But the current setup I have now was ok for many many

INBOX as mbox, other mailboxes as maildir
All,
I'm trying to teach dovecot to use the mbox format for /var/mail/%u
and maildir for /home/%u/Mail/ but I'm having quite a hard time. This
is Dovecot v1.0.beta3 under OpenBSD 3.9 on sparc64.
I've been fiddling with default_mail_env and also tried separate
namespaces, but all to no avail. Here's some of the things I tried :

with mbox format doveadm ignores subfolders of inbox
Hello.
After we switched the format from mbox to mdbox on our dovecot
(version 2.1.9) servers last week, some of our users were missing the
subfolders of their inboxes. So far we thought that with the mbox
format it is not possible to have mail folders containing both
messages and subfolders. Now we know that there is one exception from
this rule: the inbox. With mbox format dovecot

rsync-ing IMAP mbox-format mailboxes to NetApp
Hi all,
Sorry for the longish post!
I've been looking at using rsync to mirror our mailstore (BSD/mbox
format, i.e. flat files consisting of concatenated plaintext messages)
to a NetApp Nearstore (basically a filer with SATA rather than FC disk)
mounted over NFS.
I want to do this in such a way that the NetApp automatic snapshots are
kept as small as possible, so hopefully several versions

How to import an mbox to an existing user as a new mailbox
Greetings. I have a bunch of mbox files that I want to import to an
existing user, each into a new mailbox. That is, I want to import the
file project1.mbox to user Foo, into a newly-created mailbox called
"Project 1". Is there a dovecot tool to do this on the server?
