Regarding net groupmap
Well, my Samba 3.0.4 is joined to a w2k AD and works fairly well so far, as it's not in a production environment yet. I am now testing it for such a release and have encountered a permission problem. Unless I chmod -R 777 the Samba share directroy, users can only read files on the share, including the ADS users in Domain Admins. Reading the Samba online manual, I figured the groupmap

Wonky Firefox 68.0.1esr upgrade
I just applied a bunch of updates to my CentOS 7 system yesterday, one of which was a Firefox update to 68.0.1esr. Now when I bring up sites I would log in to -- my bank, credit cards, etc., the Password box is wonky and shakes and doesn't display successive dots? for characters I type, nor does it accept what I type. My work around currently is to type the password first, then my userid

Samba4 Auto-start
Hello all, I'll cut to the chase -- several weeks ago, I thought I had an upstart configuration file that would start Samba4 when the VM was turned on; but it turns out I was wrong. At the time there was nothing on the wiki about it (the links were broken). The script I thought was working was simply: start on runlevel [2345] exec /usr/local/samba/sbin/samba In any case, looking at the

Trusted domain issues
All, I have a Samba 3.0.4 server running on AIX 5.2. Samba is configured with PAM, LDAP and Kerberos. The server has been joined to an existing Windows 2003 domain, and wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g works fine. Users from the domain that Samba is a member of can authenticate just fine. The domain is in a one-way trust relationship with another ADS domain (i.e. Samba is a member of domain A,

self compiled 4.10.3 replication failure.
Hi, I have a new Centos 7.6 VM that I self compiled 4.10.3 and joined it to an existing samba AD domain that has 2 existing DCs. One of the existing DCs is running 4.8.7 and the other is running 4.7.7. Everything looks OK except that when I run samba-tool drs showrepl on the new DC (VDC4) I get the following output: (vdc4 pts4) # samba-tool drs showrepl Default-First-Site-Name\VDC4 DSA Options:
