domain master browser
I'd like my Samba server to be a Domain Master Browser for a workgroup (let's call it 'ENGINEER'). I set it up according to BROWSING.txt, but yet Windows NT/95 PCs on other subnets are unable to browse and see computers on this subnet (even if those PCs are also in the same workgroup). It appears that the Samba is not acting as the Domain Master Browser ... at least as far as

CentOS 7.4 fails to boot as Xen PV guest: resurfaces (now also) with centosplus kernel 693.11.6.el7
Dear all, Maybe I'm the only one - so before filing it as a bug: it appears that the latest set of kernel patches in 3.10.0-693.11.6.el7 makes issue 0013763 "CentOS 7.4 kernel (3.10.0-693*) fails to boot as Xen PV guest" re-surface *also* with the CentOS PLUS kernel. But maybe in a different way ... Thanks to the (great!) quick work on making the plus kernel available (in #14330,

Nonparametric Tukey-type multiple comparisons "Nemenyi" test
I am trying to do a Nonparametric Tukey-type multiple comparison post-hoc test to determine which groups are significantly different. I have read the dialogue on this topic from the R-help, and am still not clear why no statistical packages include this test as an option? Is it not an appropriate test to conduct on non-normally distributed data? Is the only option to calculate it by hand

Problems with installing Wine
Hi, I have problems installing wine. I am using Slackware 12.0, and I've downloaded the slackware wine package wine-1.1.20-i486-1kjz.tgz from here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=6241&package_id=6301 When I unpack it, I get two folders: usr/ and install/. In install/ I have a script doinst.sh. When I run, I get: > sh ./doinst.sh ./doinst.sh: line 1: cd:

UEFI syslinux PXE boot issues
Hi, I'm used to non-UEFI PXE boot, and I use it for my network installer since forever ago. Looking up how to UEFI PXE boot, I use the syslinux.efi file and allthough it was loaded and stuff, nothing happend after it, I had at least expected the ldlinux64 to be requested from the TFTP server, but nothing. After searching, I noticed someone asking to test the new pre-release, and so I

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
List moderator: feel free to delete my previous large message with attachments that's in the moderation queue...it's now obsolete anyway. I have found a fix/workaround for my reboot issues with Xen 4.6.3-12 + Kernel 4.9.13: Once I finally got serial output all the way through the boot process (xen+dom0) I discovered the stack trace: [Firmware Bug]: CPU7: APIC id mismatch. android sdk on centos7 64-bit.
you are correct sir.. something is screwed up! I remember running into a problem with the base repo enabled and swept it under the rug by disabling it for the moment and then forgot all about disabling it.. So when I enable the base repo, and run yum with debug flag, I see the following: Setting up Package Sacks http://mirror.centos.org/centos/%24releasever/os/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml:

Removing Wine source directory
After installing wine from the source, I find out that the directory is consuming some significant amount of space, so I decided to remove it. But then I remembered that since I installed from source, I mighty need the source directory in the future, in case I decide to uninstall wine. After checking the documentation, I saw that was true. So I wonder: Can I remove the directory and in the future,

Installing Wine
I am a newbie and trying to install Wine-20050111-i486-S10.gz. I untarred it, I think, and it created several directories in my Home/Wine folder. I can't get the ./tools/wineinstall to work though, it keeps telling me there is no such file or folder. I am in the same directory with the Readme file. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have read all the instructions I can find on

Custom LiveCD images with CentOS8
Is it at this moment possible to build custom LiveCD images? Are they all necessary tools available in CentOS8? I have never done this and wonder if it is still possible for C8. C7 stuff seems to be here: https://github.com/CentOS/sig-core-livemedia Not quite sure if Fedora howtos can be applied here. Any hints? Thanks, Leon
