Dominik, As far as I am concerned the command provided by Andrea disables libvirt-guests service at boot. jedrek@Home:~$ service libvirt-guests status ● libvirt-guests.service - Suspend Active Libvirt Guests Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/libvirt-guests.service; *disabled*; vendor preset: enabled) Active: inactive (dead) Docs: man:libvirtd(8) http://libvirt.org When

Dominik, What's the point of including a software to an OS that does not work? 2017-07-08 18:34 GMT+02:00 Dominik Psenner <dpsenner@gmail.com>: > I just wanted to point out that you're only resolving the symptom, not the > actual cause. Xen died - Fedora upgrade from 21 to 26
Hi, I am trying to upgrade my Xen host (Dom0) and are having troubles getting it to work. I think that it has booted into a kernel that supports Xen (running 'xl info' does list some Xen capabilities), but I have three problems (that I have found so far). Firstly, the "libvirtd" daemon doesn't start on bootup (and as a result all 'virsh' commands fail). It

Yeah, I know. Sorry for my demanding attitude. Any hints how I could start debugging the problem? 2017-07-09 18:12 GMT+02:00 Dominik Psenner <dpsenner@gmail.com>: > You can't expect anyone to step up happily to fix a problem you > experience. libvirtd not starting
Hi everybody, I've set up an new CentOS 7.6.1810 server. Then, via yum I installed qemu-kvm libvirt libvirt-python libguestfs-tools virt-install. There were no problems. But when I try to systemctl start libvirtd I get the following message: "libvirtd: process 472: arguments to dbus_message_iter_append_basic() were incorrect, assertion "_dbus_check_is_valid_utf8 (*string_p)"

Virtual machine removal through command line.
Hi, Until today, I hadn't found a way to cleanly remove a KVM virtual machine through command line on CentOS 6 or 7! I had to run 'systemctl restart libvirtd' or 'service libvirtd restart' After several months (!!!), I found this thread: https://github.com/pradels/vagrant-libvirt/issues/107 Now, I know how to cleanly remove a KVM virtual machine (with default file location):

Re: Xen died - Fedora upgrade from 21 to 26
Jim, Thanks for that, I had manually installed libvirt-daemon-driver-xen, but also needed to install libvirt-daemon-driver-libxl. I can now create VMs and convert config formats. However the daemon still fails to start on bootup. It starts fine when I manually start it with "systemctl start libvirtd" but setting it to autostart with "systemctl enable libvirtd" seems

Guest startup delay options ignored
Hi Folks, been searching around for a while on this and see similar issues reported going back a number of years without solution. The START_DELAY=(number) seems to be completely ignored in /etc/sysconfig/libvirt-guests which is unfortunate as it means everything starts at once without control. This is fine on NVMe based servers however on the older spinning disks the I/O is creating

virsh not connecting to libvertd ?
Just found my issue. After I removed the cephfs mounts it worked! I will debug ceph. I assumed because I could touch files on mounted cephfs it was working. Now virsh list works! thanks jerry Lars Kellogg-Stedman > On Tue, Jun 06, 2023 at 04:56:38PM -0400, Jerry Buburuz wrote: >> Recently both virsh stopped talking to the libvirtd. "virsh list" does not show anything after reboot [newbie]
Hi, libvirt users and gurus, I am a newbie to visualization, hope this question is not too silly, please bear with me. I had installed three guest on Fedora 21 with the virt-install tool, by: virt-install --name=f21_x86_64_guest --file=/var/lib/libvirt/images/guest.qcow2 --cdrom /workStorage/work/down/f21/Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-21-5.iso --ram=2048 virt-install --name=f21_x86_64_guest1

systemctl reboot -- server not accessible after reboot
Hi, Such a simple problem, but I can't figure out the cause. Supermicro server with a Xeon E3-1200 cpu. 1U entry level item. Using CentOS 7 from ~$root --- systemctl reboot Server disconnects my ssh connection and never comes back up. Go to the server and the power is on but the server is not accessible by ssh. When I connect a monitor and keyboard --- non-responsive. It's like

Unit libvirtd.service could not be found. on VM
Hi all, Some background: I recently has some issues with libvirt on my laptop when I got the error 'operation failed: pool 'default' already exists with uuid dd48b6ad-9a00-46eb-a3a4-c122d8a294a5' when I connected virt-manager. I was finally able to resolve it yesterday, when I removed libvirt and all its related content in /etc/libvirt, removed the pool by its UUID, deleted virbr0
