Problem passing a HP-DAT (USB) device to domU (fwd) (this time with outputs!)
(lspci-output added at the end of this mail!) Hi specialists, I''m trying to pass an HP Surestore USB-drive to a domU. I''m hiding the pci-device in the dom0, and capturing it in the domU. Although this works fine I receive the following lines in /var/log/syslog of the dom0 after a reboot ======================================================================= Aug 8

PXE problem after CentOS reboot
Dear folks, We are installing a large diskless cluster using CentOS 5.1. The hardware is pretty new - Supermicro X7DWT boards with Harpertown CPUs. Unfortunately we have some PXE-related problems described by the following scenario: 1) Set up DHCP, TFTP and NFS on a server, prepare PXE kernel and initrd - fine. 2) Start up the node using PXE for the first time - fine. 3) Reboot the node - PXE

AHCI and VT-d related problem
Hello, I have an issue with my XEN system. I suspect that it might be a bug, but I''m no linux expert, so I don''t know. Here is my problem: I have an ASUS P7P55D-E Premium motherboard, and a Western Digital Caviar Black SATA-III 1TB hdd. I am trying to use AHCI. The dom0 is an Arch Linux. The dom0 boots fine until Intel VT-d is enabled in the BIOS. When I enable it Arch

IPMI Console: No luck once OS is booted
I have a current RELENG_7 running on: http://www.supermicro.com/products/system/4U/7045/SYS-7045B-TR+.cfm with the -3+ IPMI card. I can interact with the BIOS, etc, but no joy once we get past the loader. Anyone have ideas? Attached is the kernel config, and the /var/run/dmesg.boot file. -- Larry Rosenman http://www.lerctr.org/~ler Phone: +1 512-248-2683

PROBLEM: new kernel 3.15.0-rc8 hangs completely with CONFIG_DRM_NOUVEAU enabled
First off, the current state of support for Maxwell (GM107/NV110) is not very useful to end-users. It's especially not useful if it's a 3d accelerator card without outputs (as yours appears to be), since acceleration is not supported in 3.15 out of the box. You'd have to figure out how to extract the context switching firmware from the blob driver and load it in nouveau. I'm told

PROBLEM: new kernel 3.15.0-rc8 hangs completely with CONFIG_DRM_NOUVEAU enabled
Yes, you are right - the Intel-chip is connected to the display, it just offloads 3D work to do to the nVidia-chip, which isn't even to tell how to get the EDID. I just wanted to try it out, simply for two reasons: 1. I heard that nouveau now "supports" the chip, and since I got the hardware, I wanted to try it out - just for the fun of it. :) 2. As far as I am informed, a way to

Quadrified GTX 480 VT-d passthrough. CUDA 5.5 in Linux partial success!
Hi everyone, after following in the footsteps of the following discussion (http://lists.xenproject.org/archives/html/xen-users/2013-09/msg00106.html) I had been able to turn my GTX 480 into a Quadro 6000. When I VT-d passthrough it to a Debian jessie VM it shows up fine and CUDA 5.5 seems to function properly up to a point: lspci -v: 00:04.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF100GL

PROBLEM: new kernel 3.15.0-rc8 hangs completely with CONFIG_DRM_NOUVEAU enabled
Hello, guys. First apologize my flaws, I am not a native English speaker and thus am prone to stupid errors. My box is an ASUSTek Notebook with Optimus capability (no, this is NOT about Optimus, I don't try to use Optimus yet, so please don't switch off here) with a running Gentoo. The first GPU is an Haswell-based Intel chip, the second one is a nVidia GeForce GTX 850M, the chip is a
