Hi the number of cpu cores that you see with top times 512Mbyte is the level of ram that's needed e.g. a hp-gen8 with 2 octo

High resident memory with 11.14.0 ?
cat /proc/cpuinfo lists 4 cores. So even if that's not showing hyperthreading, maximum 8. By your rule, that would be 8 cores * 0.5GB = 4GB memory. I've seen resident memory be up over 6GB. Also, how big does the cache in frame.c grow to? I've recompiled with MALLOC_DEBUG on that server: asterisk -rx "memory show summary" .... 1780466242 bytes (1780181594 cache) in 2352909 allocations in file frame.c ... Seems like a ridiculous cache. Ast/Hyla/IAX Scalability?
Hello everyone- I recently read the thread entitled "Faxing Success Rate on PRI" which dealt with Asterisk/HylaFax/IAXmodem. I'm successfully using this 'recipe' in a few instances on systems with only a couple of analog lines all the way up to a full PRI worth of Iaxmodems. However, I'm finding that I'll need to scale upwards in the coming months and would like to

You just let Asterisk do the fax detection for you, and when it hears CNG, send it to the fax extension, and your fax extension would just Dial() one of the IAXmodems (using IAX) >>DRi@b-w-computer.de wrote: >> sure in an small office you can use iaxmodem/hylafax to receive faxes

file size limit in apache 2.0 on centos 4
I think I am encountering a download file size limit on centos 4 with httpd-2.0.52 The file in question is 5.2G in size, it does not show up in a browser directory listing, and I'm getting the error in the http error_log value too large for defined data type: access can someone confirm that there is a 4GB limit (or other) in the standard apache 2.0 on CentOS 4? (OT) HylaFAX, IAXModem, Asterisk
I have all three running on the same box. I say OT because it appears asterisk is doing it's job just fine. It must be an IAXmodem or faxgetty (hylafax) problem When faxes work, they look great. I have ten IAXmodems setup with different ports and they register fine. I have ten faxgettys that startup fine. I start the IAXmodems and then faxgettys in inittab. They are setup as a roll

Beginners help
Hi, I recently purchased two X100Ps and a TMD40B. I have set everything up according to the instructions however I can't get asterisk to pick up an incoming call (It just keeps ringing). Also, when I pick up an internal extension I get dead air. I searched the mailing list for 3+ hours -- What am I missing? Thanks in advance for your help. Here are the installion steps that I used:

Asterisk + iaxmodem + hylafax makes sometimes wedged for hylafax
Hi, we have a faxserver with Asterisk, IAXModem and Hylafax. Faxes come from a SIP trunk to Asterisk, then are forwarded throught 5 IAXModems managed with Hylafax. Hylafax users can also send faxes to these modems and Asterisk send them throught the SIP trunk. We also have a dedicated modem used only for sending faxes coming from an Hylafax dedicated user. Sometimes Hylafax reports that a modem

Sequential Ring Groups?
Hi fellow Asterisk users! I've got a PRI being used with a bunch of iaxmodems/Hylafax. I currently have each individual channel of the PRI in its own context that rings a specific iaxmodem. However, when a fax is complete on that modem and another call comes into it, the modem is still in a state of 'settling down' from the last call and I'd like to have it ring a different

Configuring modem pools in Asterisk [WAS: Connecting a Rolm CBX to Asterisk via T1?]
Okay, T1 card issue sorted out. New Lesson: Stay Away from TigerJet chips. Next up, modem pool -- I wanted to know if the below config looked anywhere near half-sane for defining in asterisk what is essentially a small pool of four waiting modems that will handle faxes if another modem is busy: exten => _X.,1,Dial(IAX2/iaxmodem0/${EXTEN}) exten => _X.,2,Busy exten => _X.,3,Hangup

Issues running Asterisk + Iaxmodem + Hylafax on same machine
I'm running into a strange issue with Asterisk + Iaxmodem + hylafax on the same machine. After rebooting the iaxmodems don't register to asterisk. Stoping and starting the relevant services gets it working, but what is the point of using init scripts if it does not work right? I already tried to adjust the init scripts in /etc/rc3.d so I have: S50asterisk s90iaxmodem S95hylafax So it

Network IP address
Hello all, Quick question. Our network has NO connection to the internet (the way we want it) but we are using 66.2.x.x as our IP addresses. However, I am now reading that 192.168.x.x is the preferred naming convention. If I leave as 66.2.x.x will I have problems with Samba? Because I dont connect to the Internet do I need to change? Thanks in advance and hope Mr. Gerard O'Reilly Intranet
