KVM won't boot after update to 1804
Hi Everyone, I have a server that I recently applied all updates to to bring it to 1804. After rebooting the server, it would no longer boot and is instead dropping into a dracut shell. Here's a snippet of the output printed to the console (lines will likely wrap): [ 184.163787] dracut-initqueue[256]: Warning: dracut-initqueue timeout - starting timeout scripts [ 184.672525]

Xen 4.1.2 / Fedora 16 pv domU does not show Anaconda
Hi all. I''m mostly experienced with Xen 3.0-3.4 so forgive my ignorance. I''m trying to launch FC16 in rescue mode, which works fine with FC14 and Xen 3.4-PAE (but not newer Fedoras because they stopped compiling them with PAE so I gather). When it boots and gets to the point where it loads Anaconda, nothing else happens on the console. I know console variables are at least

kickstart: dracut-initqueue fails due to unresolvable hostname even though network config looks perfectly ok
This problem still bites us. I've tried to play around with DHCP settings (rd.net.timeout.dhcp, rd.net.dhcp.retry) to no avail. I'm happy about /any/ hint. kickstart: dracut-initqueue fails due to unresolvable hostname even though network config looks perfectly ok
Hi, kickstarting fails due to problems with host resolution, even though the network seems to be properly configured through DHCP. eno1 and eno2 are both attached to the network, but only eno1 gets an IP via DHCP. Still `curl` cannot resolve the mirror host and the kickstart host during dracut-initqueue: rdsosreport.txt ------------------------------------------------ [...] [ 14.780428]

Bug#810379: [BUG] pci-passthrough generates "xen:events: Failed to obtain physical IRQ" for some devices
Xen developers, After an upgrade of my Debian Jessie dom0 and domUs, my passthroughed NIC stopped working. This bug was probably introduced in Debian Jessie sometime between 2015-12-30 and 2016-01-08 as 2015-12-30 as 2015-12-30 was the last time I upgraded without any problems according to my dpkg.log. This bug has also been reported to Debian Bug (https://bugs.debian.org/810379), where I got

Centos 7 Kernel 3.10.0-693.11.6.el7.x86_64 does not boot PV
I thought I'd chime in and say that I'm seeing the same kernel-plus boot failure that Shaun Reitan reported earlier. Is there likely to be another build 3.10 kernel build coming down the pipeline that might fix this issue? Here's the output of my failed PV domU boot: [ 0.000000] Initializing cgroup subsys cpuset [ 0.000000] Initializing cgroup subsys cpu [ 0.000000]

Trying to get a kernel dump
Trying to debug a database server getting cpu softlocks causing SSHD to hang and not let anybody log in. Figured that a good first step would be to get some kernel dumps when the problem occurs. According to what I read at the following web site, I can get dumps for softlock problems too. Here's the site: http://blog.kreyolys.com/2011/03/17/no-panic-its-just-a-kernel-panic/ Using a

Help loading a corrupt vdi file
Hello everyone, I have a corrupt .vdi file from a virtualbox installation (XP host, Mint 11 guest) which I recently broke. I wanted to allocate more space to it, so I ran this command:VBoxManage.exe modifyhd /path/to/YOUR_HARD_DISK.vdi --resize 17179869184 It only took a second to actually complete, so I think a header somewhere is broken. I need to get access to some files I had on there using
